What are the chances??

I am trying to surprise my DH for his 30th b-day. I am taking him to Disney Dec. 4-8. His favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge. I was lucky enough to get it for the 1st 2 nites, no problem. (I unexpectedly booked concierge because the rate was so good. )

The PROBLEM is that I have had NO luck getting the last 2 nites. (Dec. 6 and 7) There is nothing in the entire Lodge available for those two nites. Yikes!! I am hoping and praying that something will become available.

Has this ever happened to anyone else out there?

If so, how did you grab the room? Any special tricks out there?
I'M DESPERATE!!!

This has never happened to me but I have heard from these boards to try expedia.com since they offer disney rooms and sometimes at such good rates. Good luck and have a wonderful trip!!

Weekend nights in December book fairly quickly and might be hard to get now. My advice is to just keep trying. You might get lucky, especially when it comes time for people to cancel or lose their depost.

This year weekend nights in early to mid Dec are really tough to get. I think it has alot to do with the fact that resorts are closed: CBR, SOG and resorts are under refurbishment with chunks of rooms closed: BWV, BC, Poly and also because every weekend is MVMCP at MK so a lot of guests that are within reasonable driving distances come to WDW just for the weekend, especially with some of the great room rates that have been offered. As of about 2 weeks ago there were still rooms available at BWI with an AP rate of $187.50 including tax a night, which is a good rate. Maybe you could split your stay and stay 2 nights at a MK resort and 2 nights at an Epcot resort.

Dec. 6 and 7th is booked all over disney...did you try getting a room there at a rate without a discount?? I would book something, anywhere on disney property quickly...because of all the special events going on...you don't want to end up with no nights at all. You can always change if you book directly with disney if something would happen to come open at WL...just get the nights somewhere!

We had secured our room months ago for ASMo. A friend of mine is wanting join us and I am trying to get them a room at ASp. Only nights available are 4th and 5th! Completely booked up even at full rate!

In regard to the post suggesting Expedia.....I have read many posts indicating that Expedia does show vacancies available UNTIL you attempt to enter your credit card information....then...NOTHING...."no room at the inn"....
I absolutely wish you the best in finding the rooms you want....if all else fails....you may want to check out some rooms at DD...not what you want I know...but at least...you will be "within striking distance"
