What are the chances...

I am arriving on 11/27:banana: and staying at POFQ.
Problem is I'm arriving at 6:55am(figure I'll arrive at hotel around 9am?) and check-in isnt until 3pm.
What are the chances of checking in early? I've done this at other hotels, but never Disney. I realize usually this depends on availability. But wondering if they do it if they can.
If we can, we would take a short nap before hitting the parks. If not, We'll just ask to leave our carry-ons there and head out to the parks.

Also, will online check-in possibly help or hurt my 1) early check in request and 2) a special building/view request?

I'm going to have plenty of time to spare, so I'm not worried about doing online check-in to save time. So I'm not sure if I should do it or not.

It can happen if there is a room available. Just ask when you check in. I think the earliest we have been able to check in was 8:30am on one trip. Most trips it usually isn't ready until early afternoon.
Maybe do the online check in and let them know what time you will be arriving. That could help them plan for you, if they have something available.

The only thing it could hurt, IMO, is that you may be forced to decide between a room available right then, and a room in your preferred location.

Ask the CM at check-in. We're often told we can either have a room now. When I ask if we wait, will we get our preferred location? The answer is nearly always yes.

So, decide which is more important before you get there, so when you're presented with the options, you will know which is more important to you, so you don't have to ponder it over at the desk.

It's exactly how you said it. Basically depends on if your room is available or not. If it's not, you can leave your luggage with bell services and ask for a text or call when your room is ready.

Most of the time, no. If you have requests you will be granted them upon availability. But when you check in it's good to reiterate your requests.

Hope this helps.

Usually a particular VIEW request is something you have to pay for, unless you are staying at a value and are requesting a parking lot view. Water view or Theme park view are usually categories you have to pay for.

If you are willing to take what ever THEY HAVE available at 9 in the morning then you might be able to check in early.

When my husband checked in for our trip at noon he was told if he wanted a room NOW he could have one but it wouldn't meet our room requests or he could wait and get what we requested. He waited until 1 pm and they text him that our room was ready.

Very good advice. Thank you!

You are talking about the Sunday after Thanksgiving which, I would assume, would be a very busy check-OUT day. If so, I would expect many will not want to leave their rooms until close to the posted 11am. The later/longer it takes for guests to vacate, the longer it takes for mousekeeping to clear the rooms for new guests.

Hope for good weather & grab a lounge chair by the pool to take a nap. We've done it often... well, my teenagers have done it often. I'm usually too excited to sleep ;)

Actually, the Saturday after Thanksgiving is the busiest check-out day, not Sunday. I switched from Saturday to Saturday a few years ago, because I wanted the extra day at home after the holiday week. I inquired with the CM at POR and they said Saturday is the busier check-out day; she was right - because Sundays was hardly anyone when I arrived and now Saturday is packed. But I usually get my room no later than 1:30 pm.

On Sunday, I would get there at 10:00 am and my room was always ready.

And you can check-in anytime after 7:00 am, when the computers roll over for the day; last year I had to re-check in on Sunday with my room discount package with a pin; I got there around 6:50 am and the CM told me I had to wait until 7:00 am when the computers roll over.

Do the online check-in. There is an option to select your arrival time, just click 9:00am. We did it last year and were able to check in as soon as we arrived. The online check-in line was much shorter and moved really quick too. All your stuff is ready to go, the Cm just has to hand it to you.

You weren't able to check in at 9:00 am because you did online check-in, you were able to check in at 9:00 am because the computers roll over at 7:00 am. You can check-in as early as 7:00 am.

Your room isn't always ready, but whether or not you do online check-in, 7:00 am is the earliest you can do it.
