What are the chances?

I've never stayed at OKW but due to some holding points, I ended up with my ressie this summer being booked at OKW. We have never stayed there so we are up for giving it a try.

Last night I realized that because OKW points are soooo much lower I could add a evening on to the beginning of our trip. So, instead of continuing to waitlist the entire vacation 5 weekdays I'd like to add on the saturday prior. I have the points but unfortunately no room at the inn. I've waitlisted this date in a 1 bedroom on July 26. Now the question. Having never dealt with or paid attention too OKW, what are the chances of picking up this weekend date mid summer???

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Are you saying that you already have the 5 weeknights reserved, and are just waitlisted for Saturday night?

If so, I think your chances are pretty good, even though it's pretty short notice.

If you're just looking for that one night, I'd call to check on your waitlist occasionally. There have been numerous situations where someone called to check and was told to hold on while the CM "checked." Then they come back and say, "Guess what? Today's your lucky day -- your waitlist 'just' came through!"

Sorry I missed a few details. We do have a 5 day ressie. I was dropping a waitlist for 5 days at a different DVC resort. So, I'm only in need of a Saturday evening at the beginning of the ressie. I'm glad you think it might work out.

I definately will check periodically just in case.

I think you'll get it as well. OKW is a really big resort, chances are someone will be cancelling, even if it is summertime. Things happen. Hope it works out for you. BTW, we have stayed there a few times and really like it, I'm sure you will too!

Well I'm a bit surprised you didn't get the Saturday night when you called. I think you'll get it via the waitlist. Don't forget to tell MS that you want to stay on the waitlist past the 30 day mark (if you do, of course). Good luck

I was going to say the exact thing! I was surprised the Saturday was not available! I also believe you will be in luck. I will still send pixie dust!
