I'm very happy that everyone seems to be getting good deals with the 4/3 and 5/2 deals released today.Unfortunately it doesn't help me since I need a room only for January 2010.Do they ever release more than one deal at a time? Do I have any chance of getting room only code??????????

I would LOVE to see a resort only code during the same time as the package released today, as I am looking for a discount in March. I do not need tickets either. Wish I could get the dining plan, though...

Good question. I can't speak to January, but on our last trip we added on an extra night at the start of the trip as a room-only (at a different resort) and there was a discount. This was during the 7 for 4 promotion so it is possible.

According to Mousesaver's historical discount chart they do have a room-only during a package promo. And Jan/Feb/Mar has had a discount before.

It is my opinion that you should never have to pay rack rate at Disney, except during the major holiday periods (Easter week is questionable--4/3 could be done last year, Christmas week, 4th July weekend, etc).

I've studied the chart at mousesavers, and various discounts look very likely to happen all year according to the historical trends. Let's hope it continues this year. I believe Disney is still making a pretty penny off of us even with a discount, not to mention those who actually do go and pay rack rate because they don't know to look for a deal.

Last October I received a 40% pin code for room only via email that was good for any resort and for most dates in 2009...keep your fingers crossed!

Last year in January, the 4/3 deal was going on. I already had tickets from a previous trip. Disney had a room only special that I was able to book. We stayed at the All Star Music(Loved it!!) for only $49.00 weeknights and $89.00 weekend. I am planning to go back in January again. Looking for a great deal like last year.

Where's the "fingers crossed" smiley when you need it!! I'm really hoping for this one. A 40% room discount on the family suites is a nice chunk of change. ;)

There will be a room discount, I'm pretty certain of that. When will it be released is another question--not soon enough for me. Yes, they often have room only discounts occurring at the same time as package discounts. I check the AP website daily hoping for an early release.

Just based on last year I agree with everyone else that you will probably see room only codes come out for January. Last year the January AP and FL Res codes came out first (at the end of October, for stays 1/1-2/12/09), and then on December 4, 2008 the general public room only codes came out (for stays 1/4-4/2/09).

And to give you an idea of some sample rates for January stays from that deal:
(Of course these are now expired!)
Value resorts, standard view $49
Value resorts, preferred $64
Moderate resorts, standard view $94
Moderate resorts, king bed $119
Animal Kingdom Lodge, standard view $154
Beach Club, standard view $249
Polynesian, garden view $269
Grand Floridian, garden view $313
Saratoga Springs, studio $189

Blackout dates were January 16 – 18, 2009

You might have quite a wait to see a deal, but good luck! Hope you get a code!

So I have just applied the 5/2 to my ressie and it really didnt save me that much. I am really hoping for a room only deal for my Feb stay....If they do release a deal that will save me more, can I just call and have the 5/2 taken off and the new deal applied? Do they let you switch out deals like that? I owe my balance by Jan 6 and generally pay it the week it is due so I wouldnt have to worry about a refund or anything.....anyone know?? Thanks!
