Dh and I are going on the November 5 Magic and we have late dining.

What are the chances of it being grown ups only at the table?

We don't mind kids but I'm not the Mom type and I don't think I would be a lot of fun for the Kid at the table.

I was just wondering if DCL tries to put couples with couples or not...

Any other couples going on this cruise that would want to share a table?

Now don't get me wrong...A child at our table will not ruin our trip, just thinking it might be more fun for the child at a table with other kids.

Check over on the cruise meets board to see if there's a thread started for your particular dates. We met a great couple here on the DIS and ended up linking our reservations together for dining. As this was a parents only trip, we all did end up eating at Palo's most of the time though :teeth: .

My sister and I went on our first DCL cruise in March of 2001. I was the youngest one at the table (just turned 21), and we were with a couple from Norway, another married couple, and two other adult women who were friends. I love kids, but when I'm on vacation I don't like to be seated with screaming babies or fussy kids. Sorry to the parents out there! Anyways, it's my understanding that DCL does it's best to seat like-aged parties together.

Hope you get your Disney wish!

I am a woman who loves to travel alone. On 3 DCL cruises I have been seated with
1) other single women
2) 3 diverse couples
3) a family of 5, with teenagers

All of the seating arrangements were pleasant and compatable. If they were not I would have asked the head server to move me to another table. Disney is pretty accomodating.

Um, I'm going over Memorial Day so I'll be there for Star Wars weekend.

I'd probably call now and put a request on my reservation for an Adults Only dining table. I'm sure they'd accomodate you. As a parent of young kids I'd be very uncomfortable too, knowing you were uncomfortable, LOL. I'm sure Disney realizes this and prefers everyone has a pleasant dining experience. :wizard:

If you want to be seated at an "adults only" table, call DCL (or if you used a TA, have them call) and put in this request. DCL really tries to meet dining requests.

They do try to arrange the dining rooms so that one rotation is primarily families with little people, one "middle year" kids, and one for teens and adult only families. However, there are always exceptions with people who requested a particular rotation or a particular server. The definition of "middle" and "older" varies with the mix of kids on your sailing date. For instance, a January or February sailing will have LOTS of little people but relatively few teens.

On our last cruise, my 13 year old and I were seated with 5 other adults. We have had all sorts of mixes of seatings on our 12 DCL cruises...but the bottom line is that if you have a preference, let them know ahead of time--they really do try to make everyone happy.

Also, if you meet your dinner companions on the first night and there is any reason that they are not satisfactory, tell the head server--things will be changed!

DH and I have done 2 cruises plus I went with a friend on the Wonder this past February and we have always been seated with adults. On our last cruise this past September I noticed that we started in PC (no flaming please) so after I made our Palo reservations I went to the regular dining rotation line and asked the ages of the people we were seated with - there were very young children and I knew that DH would not be comfortable so I requested that we be moved as well as having the LAP rotation - no problem.

Like you, we prefer not to dine with children (ours our grown..lol, and the only ones I will deal with now are my own grandchildren..lol). We have cruised twice and both times been seated at adult only tables.

You can make your request ahead of time. Also, when you get on the ship, you can check at the designated place on board to see if you are at an adult only table, if not..you can try and get your table number changed then. Be persistant. They will change you if you are persistant.

We are 2 adults also. I am not a huge fan of the little ones either. We were seated with another married couple, a tad older than us and a grandpa and his grandson, about 13 or so. The kid was great. I asked him to be our official photographer for the table, and a photographer he was! He did a great job and was a pleasure to dine with. Of course I sent him a CD of all of the great pictures he took.

I hope you have a great cruise without any tiny-ones! But the bigger ones can sure be fun.
