What Are The Chances For VGF?

Once I had my finances sorted out and was finally able to make a decision, VGF with a December UY was sold out as of last Thursday. I was put on the waiting list but what are my chances of getting a contract in the next couple of weeks?

I heard that that they may just be counting the contracts with the deposits so is it still possible that the ones don't get returned would create more availability after some time? Is there a deadline to decide once you have the contract sent over?

If this doesn't pan out within two weeks, I will go ahead and choose BCV :)

I waitlisted Dec UY VGF on Wednesday and had a contract by Friday. My guide told me that a lot of people bought on a cruise last week and that Disney usually gets cancellations when people get home so the waitlist shouldn't take long. The points are already loaded onto my account. Good luck, it should be quick.

Thank you! I am hoping. I am only looking for 100 points.

Once DVD has decided that a resort is "sold out" the guides only want to sell the new resort, PVB. Making buyers wait for points at the sold out resorts may be part of their marketing game to push buyers to PVB.

As of tomorrow, it will be two weeks since my DH called to put us on the waitlist for 160 VGF points with an April UY. He was told we were first on the waitlist for this particular request. So far, we haven't heard anything. I'm going to nudge him to call again soon to see what the status is.

He had apparently been considering the points as a surprise for our anniversary in September. He's not very good at keeping a secret and for once, I'm glad he told me what he was thinking. I quickly told him about the rumors I had been reading on the DisBoards about VGF being close to a sellout and urged him to call ASAP and I'm sure glad that he did! If he had waited until September, we would be out of luck, or at the very least, looking at an even more ridiculous price per point (we might be looking at a point increase anyway). I hope the waitlist comes through soon.

I am sure it won't be incredibly long. There are already at least 15 contracts for GFV with December and April UY's on the resale market. Just a matter of DVC snatching them up...Which I would assume they will start doing soon.

Poly is immediately available, haha. It is also a "solid buy" in the MK area IF you hope to only stay in studios...That is what turned us off the most. Right now, we hope to stay in studios for the next 7 or so years (kids are 3 and 1 1/2 yo), but we were thinking long term. Once the kids are in HS and later, we wanted the ability to bring friends/family, eventual grandkids, etc. So we waited and bought enough points at VGF for 6 nights in a studio every year. We will do a large add-on once the kids are out of daycare (dang two kids in daycare at the same time is insanely expensive) so that we can get a two bedroom.

If VGF is what you want...hold out. We have stayed at Disney a few times, visited each resort, and decided that for us, when we are in our 60's, etc. VGF would have the most appeal and staying power.

Thank you Sparrow. You are absolutely right. I too can see myself there after the kids are grown. I will wait a few more days and we shall see :)

Well so much for being first on the waitlist. I nagged DH to call yesterday to see if there are any updates and the guide said that we weren't actually the first ones on the waitlist, but that we were "near the top" and that it shouldn't be too long. Maybe a few months. Ugh. I am so impatient. It's not that we need the points right this second. I just don't want the price to go up. Maybe we need to start a VGF waiting list support group?

Congratulations! May I ask how many points? A friend of mine is on the waitlist for 100...

I am purchasing a loaded 50pt April VGF contract that was sent to Disney for ROFR that past Monday, I wonder if the mouse will take it....
