What Are the Chances... BWV at 7 months

I am just finishing up a resale purchase at VWL as I think this will be a great resort for my fiancé and I going forward... However next summer we will be getting married at SeaBreeze Point and want to put his family up in a two bedroom villa for the week. We'd love for them to be able to stay at BWV instead of VWL as it will be easier for the wedding... What are the chances of getting a two bedroom villa at BWV the week of August 8th 2015 at 7 months out? Is that a busy time for Boardwalk? I don’t want them to have to switch resorts so if I can’t get it I will just keep the 2 bedroom at VWL that I will book at 11 months out. Thanks in advance.

The other big thing is that at Boardwalk I’d have enough points for them to stay all 8 nights they’ll be there on points instead of having to possibly rent some extra points or pay cash for them for 1 night.

I'm sure we'll have a great time no matter what but I'd love to make it as easy for them as possible.

If you are looking for standard or boardwalk view it might be some work, but otherwise you should have no problem

I'd prefer Standard View but have enough points to swing Boardwalk View if that's what I can get. Thanks for the feedback!

Standard & Boardwalk views are almost always more difficult to book at 7 months than Pool/Garden views. You are most likely to get Pool/Garden category - same number of points as Boardwalk view.

Pool/Garden villas make up approximately 60% of the available capacity, Boardwalk and standard views are each about 20% of the total.

I think you will be able to get a Pool/Garden 2 bedroom at 7 months for your dates. (Remember that all 2 bedroom villas at BWV are lock offs).

Booked with points at 7 months out. No standard or BW view available at that point.

Time of year is a lower DVC demand time but BWV standard and boardwalk view can be difficult to get any time of year. At 7 months out for that time of year for both 2013 and 2014, BWV pool/garden view was open but 2BR standard and boardwalk view were missing four of the days and there was no opening for more than three nights in a row for boardwalk view and two for standard.

You guys are great thanks... I didn't even know there was anything other than Standard or Boardwalk view! We'll I'll book them into VWL and if Boardwalk is open at seven months the Pool view will be the exact same number of points. And if nothing's available I'll get to see the rooms at our home for the next couple of decades which is good too.

If the inlaws are easy going and not high maintenance, you might ask if they want to do a split stay. That would be much more likely to accomplish a few standard view days if you are only a few points short or can make up the difference by purchasing points form DVC.

We'll have 336 points. A week at VWL or and of the special views at BWV is 350 so we'll have to get some points from Disney. We'd like to add an 8th night for them but it will be a Saturday and 44 points so that will probably have to be cash or rented from someone. Honestly I'm not sure how they are when they vacation as we've never traveled together but I don't think I'll be able to talk to them about this in any depth until October and 11 month booking opens in September... Maybe I'll just ask them if they want to switch hotels for the wedding.

I'd definitely consider it but have heard it's hard to get two bedroom units there. Plus I'll have to double check how many points it is

^It is hard to get BCV including 2BRs some times of the year like most of the last quarter of the calendar year (DVC's highest demand quarter by far) but that time you want in August was open for 2BRs at BCV at 7 months out for both 2013 and 2014. Points are the same as VWL and BWV preferred for 2BR in August.

I got a standard view studio at BWV at 5 or 6 months out for next week. This will be my 3rd stay at BWV (all booked less than 7 months out). I think you will be able to get something at BWV.
