What are the chances 12/09 at 7 months

I am hoping to book a week over Christmas 2009. What are my chances at booking at 7 months, our home resort is Vero Beach. My first choice will be WL, but figure that will be nearly impossible. After that we are shooting for AKV, then anything that is available, as long as we are there!
Just curious about anyone else who has booked for Christmas time in the past at seven months.

You will definitely have to waitlist. The waitlists for that time period start early on, before 7 months out.

VWL is next to impossible to get for that time of year. That's why we bought a add-on there. Good Luck.

Our home resort is SSR.

We were able to book a studio at AKV at 7 months, no problem (no waitlist), for last Christmas. Our dates were Dec. 20-26, 2007.

As Disneynuts said - VWL will be virtually impossible and is also the reason I sold all my OKW points to buy even more at the VWL because I had to be there in late November, early December every year from the first time I tried it. AKV may still be available as it still isn't sold out so the full compliment of owners aren't booking yet at the 11 month window. You'll have the best shot at OKW and SSR due to their size as they have the most rooms of any of the other DVC properties. Any chance that there is a VWL owner that would be willing to trade for your Vero Beach points where they book your trip and you book theirs. Just a thought. Good Luck.

Yes.

I think you will be able to get something at WDW if you call as soon as your window opens. SSR is very large and is the most likely to have availability, but you never know about the others.

You can waitlist for other resorts even if you already have a reservation. Good luck!

You might post on the rent and trade board, someone there may want a Vero unit and need the 11 mo window and you could trade reservations.
