What are the Better French Door Refrigerators?

Hi,
We were warned to stay away from Samsung as the parts are hard to find when it's time to repair it. Although, the price on them have come down so low that it's probably cheaper to just replace it if something serious goes.

We just replaced our Subzero with a Bosch because the parts are made in California. We also needed counter depth, built in and it fit perfectly. I wish we could afford another Subzero. It lasted 25 years with no problems but our model was 12K to replace.

I live in the house I grew up in. I am 48 years old. The fridge we have is the same one my parents bought when I was a child. It is probably inefficient, but we have not had any problems with it in years. I often think about getting a new fridge, but reading the accounts of people like you all here tells me to hang on to what I have.

And a repair man saying 18 months is old for a refrigerator is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. We had a side by side in the basement of our old house. It is at least 25 years old. Years ago, it broke and a repair man came and got it running. He told us though that it wouldn't run much longer because something was majorly wrong with it. It is still working fine.

Appliances are no longer built to last. We were told that 7 years is the expected life of any appliance built today. I believe it.

Keep those old appliances going!

I just bought a new washer/dryer set. I paid $1200 and I didn't even get the top of the line. The washer I replaced was a 1992 model. I don't imagine this one will last anywhere near that long.:sad1:
