What are the best restaurants at Disney World?

Congrats!!

Some recommendations:

Yak and Yeti- AK
Via Napoli- Epcot
Mama Melroses- HS
Hollywood Brown Derby- HS
Cape May Cafe (only been for dinner) was very good!
Crystal palace (My all time favorite bfast buffet, its a must do every year!) this is a character buffet, but really if you're not interested they won't make it a big deal.
1900 Park Fare (great bfast buffet)
Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney is great!
Liberty Tree Tavern
Boma at AKL is a great buffet!

These are all sit down restuarants.

We're gonna have to do Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. I'm adding them to my list now, I keep getting reminded of them so they must be good! Thank you!

"Best". Is so subjective but I love these kind of threads.

Our favs for the past 12 years that we never miss:

Jiko
Cal grill
Narcosee's
Flying fish
Artist point
Yachtsman steakhouse (I personally think this place is way more consistent that the place at swan and dolphin)
Citricos

We never did Victoria and Alberta cause I just never wanted to carry a jacket with me. It's on the bucket list when we go with my parents so they can take the kids.

Other places we just dig also:

Wave
Scifi ( it's just cool)
The land counter service for lunch
Contemporary counter service for lunch or dinner
Flame tree
Casey
Sanaa
Kona cafe for breakfast


Our trips r always the same we eat at our top places and then the other 2 or 3 days we seek out a new place to add to the list. Jiko has been the most recent addition years ago.

12 years! Wow! I love that system you have, we may try to do the same. We're gonna have to make more than one trip to fit in all the restaurants on this thread lol! I'm so in between on V&A. On one hand a honeymoon is a once in a lifetime experience and that would make is so memorable, on the other hand I just can't constitute spending that kind of money on one meal. It's definitely something for me to consider. Thank you again!

First, congratulations! We honeymooned at WDW 5 years ago and we've been back 13 times since...and we live in Ohio!

I have to chime in on the dining plan. We love it...we would second guess our dining options CONSTANTLY if we weren't on it, paying out of pocket, and worrying about what we spend along the way. With the dining plan you are guaranteed a counter service AND table service dinner every day and you can have fun trying different places knowing that it's already all paid for.

You said you're from the south, and I think I remember you saying you like more 'down home' food. While Victoria's and Albert's may be considered "the BEST", you may hate all the 'frou frou' dishes. My DH would! We love Disney buffets because they are EXCELLENT and offer a great variety of everything from 'comfort food' like carved beef and mashed potatoes to more exotic dishes.

My advice is to go to all of the great sites with menus and see what sounds good, and do be a little adventurous. Have a wonderful time!

Speaking as a very frugal, haven't had an anniversary dinner 5 yrs prior (out of 11) and never anything so extravagant, kind of person. IT'S SO WORTH IT. Every dish was a revelation of flavor. I actually teared up a little, because I knew I wouldn't be able to replicate any of it We both tend to not spend, and we BOTH are looking forward to the day we can dine there, again.

Honestly, if we had chosen to skimp on everything else just to dine at V&A's, we would have been happy afterwards It really was fun AND exquisite.

It is a toasted sandwich place in downtown disney... We have tried a lot of the sandwiches and they are all great...
We have potbelly and Quiznos here in Chicago and neither are as good as earl of sandwich.

Hey original poster- what months are you going?? I was thinking if Cali Grill is open by then- it would be a great substitute to V & A! Super upscale, romantic, and amazing IMO- but much less expensive!

Oh just read your signature- I think California Grill will be open again by then after the refurb- you really should consider it with a romantic view of wishes instead of V & A imo!

I think I differ pretty significantly from some of the others here in my definition of "the best" at WDW

If I want a 4 star restaurant with all the bells and whistles, we'll go into NYC for it. At Disney, for me at least, I want good food and great theming. I can be eating a burger and fries, but if the theming is great, I'm a happy WDW visitor.

So I've never been to some of the "best" listed on this thread, and I'm OK with that. (Seriously, as a family of 5, V&A simply isn't happening.)

There are so many wonderful choices. My suggestion is to take a look at the descriptions, and go with your gut. Sure, you want some romantic dinners on your honeymoon. But you also want some that you couldn't get in a major city, some that scream DISNEY WORLD!!

I got that for my husband last year as a Christmas gift, and he said it was fabulous!!!

One of these years, when the kids are older maybe, I'll get to do it too!
