What are the best restaurants at Disney World?

If I DH and I were in WDW alone on a romantic trip...

First of all, when you make your reservations, make sure you note that you are celebrating your honeymoon. You never know what kind of pixie dust you'll get.

Breakfasts:
Boma (probably the best breakfast in WDW, and you only have to roll out of bed to get there)
Crystal Palace (character meal with Pooh and friends). Make a reservation for before park opening, say 8:05, you get a jump start into the park AND enjoy the food when it's all hot and fresh and before things get chaotic in there
Kona Cafe - lovely breakfast in a pretty setting, and you can explore the beautiful Polynesian resort - walk out the back and check out the pool and views from the beach. ry the Tonga Toast, Samoan or Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes!
Maybe Cinderella's Royal Table (the castle! It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so which meal you do here is up to you, but I would really do one)
Maybe Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, Tusker House or Cape May, if you want to see Mickey and Friends

Relaxing lunches -
Via Napoli
Les Chefs de France
Sanaa
Liberty Tree Tavern
San Angel Inn

Dinners
Victoria & Alberts
Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Artist Point
Narcoossee's or California Grill (if CG is reopened)
BOG
Dinner Show? (We prefer HDDR, but luau is fun, too)
Bluezoo I haven't tried it, but it is high on my must-try list, and I hear the atmosphere is very romantic

So far here is our list!

Breakfast:
1900 Park Fare
Crystal Palace
Tusker House
Kona Cafe
Maybe- Olivia's Cafe

Lunch:
Definite- Earl of Sandwich
Definite- Be our Guest
Definite- Sanaa for one of the days we hang out at the resort.
Definite- Raglan Road Irish Pub
Probably- Biergarten (I've never had German food so I don't know if I'll like it)
Probably- Columbia Harbor House
We're going to taste our way through the Epcot food and wine festival one day. We're figuring this will be more than enough food for lunch. What do you think?

Dinner
Definite- Boma (We're doing this one our first night in)
Definite- Cape May Cafe
Definite- Hoop Dee Doo Revue
Between Coral Reef, Flying fish and Narcoossee's for seafood dinner
Between- Yachtsman Steakhouse or Le Cellier for steak dinner
Between- California Grill and Artist Pointe

Still in the running:
Tutto Italia
Jiko
Via Napoli
Hollywood Brown Derby
Yak and Yeti
Olivia's Cafe for breakfast -it's just kind of out of the way

Quick Service
Flame tree
Wolfgang Puck Express

Snacks/Drinks ( if it's possible for us to be hungry after all the food we'll be eating!)
Definite- Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Buffet after an early dinner one night
Definite- Captain Cooks or Aloha Isle for a DOLE WHIP! I've never had one. I'm ready to try it!
Maybe- Baby cakes in Downtown Disney
Maybe- Laffers Cantina
Maybe- Storybook treats
Maybe- Les Halles Boulangerie Parisserie

I think we'll pass on V&A this time. We're going to look into it for our anniversary though!

I've been looking at the Luau! I the the HDDR will be more up our alley for now.

Pineapple Macadamia nut pancakes sound downright sinful. Yum. You sold me lol. And thanks for the timing tip! That's my next obstacle...figuring out when to time things!

Since you are staying at AKL, one of our most memorable meals was a Jiko. We had a very early ADR because we had our kids with us, my DS14 and DS1 even agreed with DH and I that it was one of the best meals we have ever had at WDW. We had wonderful food and service, the boys still talk about it and our dinner there was in June 2011.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Have fun planning your Disneymoon!

Will you have a car? If not, consider the time it will take you to get to all the places from AKL. Olivia's will be a bit complicated to get to for breakfast, especially if you plan to go on a park day...lots of time will be used getting there and then getting to the park. IMO, no meal (especially breakfast) is worth a big out-of-your-way commute. Of course that's MY opinion, so take it for what it's worth. Why not Boma? It's right there in your resort! Park Fare and Crystal Palace are good MK day choices, Kona MK or Epcot, and TH obviously AK.

Sounds like you are making some fabulous choices! My family would pick Yachtman over Le Cellier, Narcoossee's over Coral Reef, and it's close between AP and CG, but CG gets the edge for the view...and that it will be newly revamped.

Have fun!

We will have a car, thankfully! We're doing Boma for dinner one night...I didn't think about the fact they do breakfast. But those Macadamia nut pancakes sound SO good.

It may be because I'm on a pre wedding diet and all I want is CARBS. Lol.

I think we will do California Grill. I'd like to see what new things they have done. My fiance and I are talking everything out tomorrow so hopefully we'll get the official plans made! :)

Wow! That must have made some impression! I'm sure we can fit it into the "definite" list! :) :thumbsup2

My fiance and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon and I'm trying to figure out what restaurants to reserve spots for. I'm making a rough schedule now and trying to figure out what restaurants will be fun for us! Neither of us have stayed at a Disney resort before and he has never been to Disney World. I haven't gone since I was a small child so we're super new to this!

We will be staying 7 nights and 7 1/2 days at AK- Jambo House.

Breakfast wise, we'll be doing room service once and the majority of time we'll eat food we're bringing. But there are a few mornings we'd like to dine in somewhere. What are the best breakfast joints?

For lunch we're both more than happy to mix deli/pub style restaurants and quick service meals. Laid back lunches are perfect for us. Any suggestions? I've heard purchasing a disney refillable cup is worth it if you plan to eat lunch in the parks everyday. Is this true?

We for sure want to do a table service dinner every night. What are some great places to visit? Are there any dinner shows at Walt Disney World? I know for a fact we want to have dinner at Be Our Guest one night, but other than that I have no idea!

As of right now we are not purchasing a dining plan because I know we will both have an occasional drink and I've read for two adults the dining plan isn't the best option.

Thank you for any and all suggestions!!! :wizard:

Congratultions!!! You'll have so much fun exploring your options!!

I go to character breakfasts when in Disney cuz I have 2 kids, but if I went without them, I'd prob do Kona for breakfast...like everyday. LOL!

For lunch, I love love love Columbia Harbor House in MK...just a different take on counter service. Not your typical chicken fingers, hot dogs, burger. I like the tuna sandwich there and fried shrimp. Earl of Sandwich in DTD is a MUST try. Deliciious pressed panini's. Flame Tree in AK has delish BBQ food, always my lunch spot when visiting Animal Kingdom. And while speaking of Animal Kingdom, look for the Dawa Bar. A nice shady retreat to sit back with a cold drink and watch the African dancers. You also might really like La Cava Del Tequila. One of my fave spots in Epcot to stop by for some AC and a relaxing tapa and maragarita.

My hands down fave dinner of all time anywhere in the world is California Grill. I usually dont recommend anything other than that. You can not beat the food, service, and above all the VIEW! And you can watch the fireworks right from your seat while you eat. You might like Raglan Road too. They have nightly entertainment and Irish dancers and great food.

Good Luck!!! Keep us posted!

Breakfast:
1900 Park Fare
Crystal Palace
Tusker House I vote boma breakfast instead. Similar but I think better
Kona Cafe Perfect for a day before MK! Or maybe even epcot since you also have 1900 park fare and crystal palace to do on other MK days. If you do before epcot you can just walk to the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot.
Maybe- Olivia's Cafe would skip since you have a lot of lunch plans and less convienant

Lunch:
Definite- Earl of Sandwich Great choice- just know it's a QS. I think most of the time people end up needing to choose Earl of Sandwich OR Wolfgang Puck Express- since I think most people probably don't end up being in downtown disney for TWO lunches. At least I know I don't end up there much when I travel since there are too many other great things to do in the parks!
Definite- Be our Guest Also quick service- which I hear is great and we are doing as well this month.
Definite- Sanaa for one of the days we hang out at the resort. Great choice and perfect since it's at your resort!
Definite- Raglan Road Irish Pub Another great choice.
Probably- Biergarten (I've never had German food so I don't know if I'll like it)
Probably- Columbia Harbor House This is QS- I think you know but just to confirm.
We're going to taste our way through the Epcot food and wine festival one day. We're figuring this will be more than enough food for lunch. What do you think? You honestly may be able to do a whole day, like 10am till 10pm, at F & W. Some people say one day isn't enough- they need 2 or 3- so I think you should consider counting on this being lunch AND dinner.

Dinner
Definite- Boma (We're doing this one our first night in) I vote for Jiko here!! Jiko is amazing. I vote for Boma over tusker house for breakfast another day. Just my personal opinion!
Definite- Cape May Cafe
Definite- Hoop Dee Doo Revue
Between Coral Reef, Flying fish and Narcoossee's for seafood dinner (I vote Flying Fish. Most expensive- but I think it's the best. If you're doing a dining plan and running out of credits then I would vote for coral reef instead as it's only a 1 pointer. Very mixed reviews- but fish tanks are neat!.)
Between- Yachtsman Steakhouse or Le Cellier for steak dinner (I vote Yachtsman. Plus it's fun to check out the y & b Club.)
Between- California Grill and Artist Pointe (I vote California Grill. I love AP- but CG is so much more special. I say for one of your final night dinners.)

Still in the running: (the only one of these I think is a must do personally is jiko)
Tutto Italia
Jiko
Via Napoli
Hollywood Brown Derby
Yak and Yeti
Olivia's Cafe for breakfast -it's just kind of out of the way

Quick Service
Flame tree
Wolfgang Puck Express

Snacks/Drinks ( if it's possible for us to be hungry after all the food we'll be eating!)
Definite- Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Buffet after an early dinner one night

Maybe- Baby cakes in Downtown Disney

Maybe- Les Halles Boulangerie Parisserie

Have you started to use touringplans.com and make a calendar of what days you want to be in what parks? I think you should start to draw up a general itinerary first because then you'll see where certain restaurants work in. For instance- there are a few restaurants on my upcoming trip I really wanted to go to but they just don't work into my itinerary and as much as I love dining and eating- getting from one side of Disney to the other just for a certain restaurant was not worth the stress or transportation time. I use google calendars (I made a special disney name) to manage my itinerary- I put in what park I'll be at and all my ADRs and it really helps make sure all my ADRs make sense location and time wise.

Hope this helps- looks like you have some amazing choices!

First of all, Congratulations!!! (If you wear your "I'm on my Honeymoon" pins, you'll hear that everywhere, and there just may be some extra-special magic just for you... It may feel silly, but it is totally worth it!)

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to WDW two years ago in October. It was AMAZING! So, great choice! It sounds like you already have some great plans, so I will pass on some of our experiences and good memories just so you have more info. I had never been to WDW before our honeymoon, so the Unofficial Guide was my best friend (I hadn't discovered the Dis yet... sad day!). We are going back as soon as school lets out to celebrate our 2 year anniversary (we couldn't stand the idea of celebrating anywhere else!).

Table Service: We went to Cali Grill one night. We are from the south, too, and aren't really "fancy" eaters. We really like good food, thouhg. Cali grill was definitely different from what we were used to. We laughed a lot at ourselves, and we loved the fireworks from the deck, the service was pristine, and the food was good, but we're not planning on going back. We absolutely loved Ohana. The atmosphere, all you can eat meat and shrimp, the pot stickers, the salad (which we're sad to hear has changed), and the desert were fabulous. In fact, we've booked dinner twice for when we go back. We are going back to Les Chefs. Like a previous poster said, the french onion soup (and I would add the lobster bisque) are worth the whole experience. If you book it right, you can watch Illuminations through the windows there. Wouldn't miss having a dinner there. My wife loves breakfast at Chef Mickeys, and we're going back. It's lighthearted and fun especially if you like characters, but I'm actually looking more forward to our upcoming breakfast at The Crystal Palace. If you book as close to 8:00 as you can, you can get in (on a non-EMH day) before the park officially opens. You and your DH can get pictures of you kissing on an empty Main Street with the castle in the background... kinda magical... We really liked Trail's End for a breakfast buffet. It was very laid-back, and the campground area is beautiful, so we're going back on a "relax" day-after a rope-drop day :coffee:. We are going to try Boma this trip, and we hear amazing things about it. We will be having breakfast as often as my wife can squeeze it out of the trip at Kona. Their french press coffee is fantastic. In fact, that is the whole reason we are going (and the good memories-we stayed at the Poly, so Kona was an easy breakfast spot and has Great food and service). We heard that we really missed out last time, so this time we made sure that we got into Raglan Road for dinner. My Irish blood will be happy.:shamrock:

Counter Service: Our first night to visit Epcot, we grabbed fish and chips from the Yorkshire County CS next to Rose and Crown (same fish and chips as inside) and sat on the curb as we waited for Illuminations. Just relaxing and not having planned it, we both really love that memory, and we loved the fish and chips. We're going to re-create it again, but my encouragement is that your plans to eat your way around Epcot is great. Sometimes our most unplanned days were the most magical and stress-free. In fact, we stopped at the Boulangerie (now Les Halles)in France on a whim for breakfast and sat outside in the little side street while we ate the scrumptious quiches and eclairs that were to die for. We don't know if it is as good since it moved, but we're going to try to eat in that side street again just for the good memories. We enjoyed Yak and Yeti's orange chicken at AK. We're booked for dinner (and going for lunch) at BOG this time around.

From two honeymooners to y'all (told you we're from the south), don't stress, don't try to do it all or too much, take a nap back at your hotel if you're tired (and you will get tired), stop to kiss each other, hold hands, wear those pins (I felt silly, but she wanted me to, and we had some really sweet experiences because of it), laugh at yourselves and with each other. Don't be afraid to say that you really do want to ride Dumbo or It's a Small World if you do. It's time to be kids with each other. After you've budgeted your money, don't stress over costs once you're there. Your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We opted for the dining plan both times just so we didn't have to look at prices on the menu, but we also realized it kept us from getting appetizers or eating less, etc. It just works for us and what we wanted for these two trips. Next time, we think we'll do the TIW. Enjoy the CM's! They are some of the sweetest, most wonderful people around, and they will bend over backwards to make your time magical. They don't get thanked often enough, and you will blow them away if you stop to tell them how much you appreciate what they do. Your honeymoon pixie dust can be spread around. And lastly, I hope it is filled with pixie dust and Disney magic abounds for y'all!

To the PP ^^^^, Great advice and wisdom!!! Well said about trying to relax and not doing too much!

well congrats first of all. looks like you have a lot of great choices.
Tusker house -was always a miss for us. been there a few times and never thrilled.
yak and yeti- was a hit when we ate there. yum

Boma- is great. very good breakfast and was very good at dinner too.

le cellier- was everything we were expecting. we were talking about that dinner for a while after. booking it for a dinner again this summer.

Sunshine seasons- in epcot is excellent. organically grown and harvested foods and always good. We get lunch there every time we go. never a miss. and lots to choose from. also it is inside so it is a great place to rest and be cool for a bit away from the sun.

leave plenty of wiggle room for your quick service lunches and snacks. allow more time to kind of roll along and enjoy as you go.

crepes in france in world showcase are very very good.
dole whips are yummy

columbia harbour house- is very good for quick service. never had a bad meal there and there is extra seating upstairs.

enjoy and leave room for desserts!

We're excited about Kona because of the pressed coffee! I'm thinking we'll do CG over Artist Point this time. I keep thinking of that view...

Thank you! I hope y'all have a blast on your anniversary! ;) Just a quick side note on "y'all" - I moved to California for a year and I've never had so many people laugh at my accent. It was so funny! I even had a few people ask me what "y'all" meant! When I remembered, I tried to say "you all" in more serious environment. If I didn't people would stop in their tracks and have to make conversation about the word!

We are definitely wearing the pins! And for a little while we may wear the bride and groom hats! :bride:

I really like your tip about not planning too much. I kind of worry that I'll be so stressed getting to place to place on time I'll ruin it! I've got to figure out a nice balance! We're planning a whole day of just hanging out by the pool and exploring our resort. I'm actually really excited for this!

Thank you for all your tips!

well congrats first of all. looks like you have a lot of great choices.

I'm excited for Boma! I've heard so many great things. I'll have to try the crepes! I've only had one before and it wasn't a "real" crepe. It was a school imitation. Lol. And the dole whip! I swear I'm having dreams about trying it!

Thank you for all of your tips and the congratulations!

Definite- Captain Cooks or Aloha Isle for a DOLE WHIP! I've never had one. I'm ready to try it!
Maybe- Baby cakes in Downtown Disney
Maybe- Laffers Cantina
Maybe- Storybook treats
Maybe- Les Halles Boulangerie Parisserie

GREAT tips! Great great tips.

We haven't started using a touring plan but I'm about to go check it out! That sounds wonderful.

We're gonna try to fit all of it in but if we can't there will always be more disney trips! I'm excited to check that website out though! Thank you for your dining suggestions. Jiko will be our first night stop!

I hope you have an amazing time on your honeymoon! We have only been to Disney once but I wanted to let you know we had a fabulous time as just the two of us at Crystal Palace. We had dinner there and really did enjoy the food. We had outstandfing character interaction but it was just before closing and a quiet night. We will definitely be going there again during our next trip! Try to remember to mention to your waitress there that it is your honeymoon. Sometimes they do something special.

Also I know no one mentioned it and it gets very mixed reviews but we loved Chefs de France! If you time it right there is an audioanimatronic Remy that goes through the restaurant. I can't remember what time it was so you would have to ask when you make the reservations and it isn't guaranteed. We happened to love the food also. If you love cheesy and creamy type foods I would highly recommend it. If you aren't into things like quiche and upscale mac and cheese skip it but if you like those things like we do I would recommend it highly. I have read negative comments about the waitstaff but we had a wonderful waitress. We are planing to dine there during our next trip.

Finally we went to the food and wine festival when we went and planned to eat one dish from each country that day. I only made it half way around before feeling sick from eating too much and DH made it 3/4 of the way around and he can really eat. I would definitely plan on doing it over 2 days. If you aren't park hopping maybe do a morning in future world and an afternoon/evening in world showcase over two days. We did one day in world showcase and one in future world which would have worked out great if it wasn't for food and wine. It is simply too much food in one day!

I think others have mentioned it but make sure you book your ADRs 180 day in advance in the morning. I can't remember if you are going to Be Our Guest for dinner but they book up very quickly. Lunch is quick serve so no ADRs but I have heard there can be a wait.

If you are planning to take advantage of Photopass, you will save money by pre-buying it. Also if you tell the photographers you already bought it they may snap some extra pictures so you can make sure there are tons on your CD. Have a magical trip!
