what are the best dvc perks?

i will be leaving for disney dec 9th.

what would people say are the perks they actually use while staying at the parks?

what are the best perks?

what restaurants or counter service restaurants allow for discounts for dvc members?

A perk that saved my group lots of $$$ was the 20% discount on certain spa services at Saratoga. FIVE of us had either a massage or a facial during our November trip and we saved about $20 each! You can get most DVC discounts for your entire party if they are all staying on your DVC points (their resort id cards will say DVC MEMBER)

It's a bit tight time wise but you might try getting a Disney Dining Card so you can get a 20% discount on your meals at the better dining establishments. Their number is 1-407-566 5858. The card also gets half price admission to Pleasure Island. They can issue a temp card that you can pick up at Epcot the day you arrive.

The Disney Dining Experience card is NOT a DVC perk, it is an Annual Passholder perk. Not all DVCers are annual passholders.

It may seem like a small thing, but we love the free valet parking. It is SO nice to just drive up to the door, hand someone the keys and they take care of the car. They also unload your luggage and groceries, if you have any, and come up and open the door for you if it's not so busy they are rushing around. That bit of pampering really makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

The DVC golf card discount! If anyone in your family is a golfer, this can save a bundle. My husband usually plays at least three or four rounds a trip. The golf card can "slice" the cost by more than half. ($50 a round is a real bargain at WDW. I think it's $89 a round during peak times.) This is one perk that can make a BIG difference in the cost of a stay.

Our other big savings was the DVC discount on APs. We bought DDE cards with part of the savings and saved 20% on TS meals.

Be sure to check the Portable Perks folder that you'll get at check-in. It has all the current DVC discounts listed.

this may have been posted already, but at the Saratoga Springs DVcer meeting last week, they announced that DVCers will be able to participate in the 'free' dining plan begining next year--in the spring--no details were discussed-

I just joined DVC (newbie) but have been a frequent visitor to WDW for years and the combination of AP, DGM (golf), DDE (dining) and now with the DVC...WOW....it's the best of all worlds...literally!

Sorry, discounts are supposed to be only when you're staying on DVC points. There are times when a CM will only ask for your membership card and not your room card, but you can't (and shouldn't) count on it.

I would print out the pdf file that was given here. We just got back from WDW and I have the AP, DDE, DVC and on SEVERAL occasions they wouldn't give me a discount.

We ate at the Turf Club and they said they weren't accepting any discounts right now, they weren't "set up" for it?.... We also ate at Pizzafari's in the Animal Kingdom and they wouldn't take a discount either.

Luckily we ate at Le Cellier and California Grill so I was able to recoup the money I spent on the DDE plus some, but have the paper with you. I didn't have anything that listed they had to give me the discount. I thought I was going to save alot more than I did.

The free valet (when at BWV) and annual pass discount are the best. We appreciate the dining and shopping discounts, but use them much more rarely.

I called a CM at DVC yesterday and she said that I did not have to be booked into a DVC resort to get the DVC member discounts. Just show them my members' card. Anyone try this?
