what are the best attractions for my hubby?

A while back I posted my tentative itinerary for our trip and a couple of people pointed out that I was missing some of their hubby's fave attractions and that my DH might appreciate some of them. I admit my focus had been on things DD6 would enjoy (not sure how adventurous she'll be), and I hadn't really thought to split our time up and have DH check out some other stuff. It is just the 3 of us.

That said - he's not a thrill coaster person, so I guess I'm thinking of other attractions...

This is what I've added for him to do solo while DD and I do something princessy or hit a playground:

DHS - Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones (if time allows)

Epcot - Test Track, beer in WS ;)

AK - ?? I don't think he cares about Dinosaur or Everest...

MK - ?? I think we might all try BTMRR, he might want Space Mtn but again I'm not sure he cares. Maybe Haunted Mansion would be good?

I just want to make sure he enjoys himself! Amusement parks are pretty much the opposite of what he considers a good time, so he's really in this for DD's sake. I didn't add this in, but we are doing a fair number of shows at DHS and AK, which I think we'll all enjoy, plus Wishes and IllumiNations.

Thanks!!

Has your DH been to Disney before? It's unlike anything else so to gauge his potential interest will be difficult. I don't think someone could pay me to ride a roller coaster at an "amusement park" but I will ride any Disney attraction a million times over.

I think the ideas you have are good ones but I would let him decide when you are there. If he feels a bit overloaded with princess stuff, he can do one of the things you mentioned. He could also take a break from the girls one day and go golfing.

Of course, our opinions are just that, it's what we like. My hubby isn't a Mouse lover and does Disney for us. That being said, DHS is his favorite park! We don't do other amusement parks but he loves Tower or Terror, Rock N Roller coaster, Toy Story Mania and Star Tours. We all enjoyed Indiana Jones this last trip. Good beer stand behind Studios Catering Co. quick serve location.
We all love Test Track (even if kids were a little scared when they forst when on, they loved it after).
Fort beer, here's our fav stops:
And a sie your hubby might want to investigate. http://beersandears.net/2013/09/beer-tours-beers-around-the-world-showcase/
Canada beer cart - Unibrou beers: La Fin De Mond, Delirium Tremins
UK- Rose & Crown beer cart & pub - Harp, Bass, Strongbow. Mixes inside liek Half & Half or Black & Tan.
America - Fife & Drum Tavern - Sam Adams seasonals
Germany - Altenmunster
Norway - Carlsberg is drinkable

The whole family should try Haunted Mansion (just tell kiddo to close eyes if too scared but it's really not that scary) and BTMRR. Then let Hubby do Splash Mt!

Have fun!

APiratesLifeForMe2, he hasn't been before. And he's not much of a planner, it stresses him out, so I'm trying to give him some good options up front. But you're right, he'll want some flexibility to decide while there also.

Mrs. D - thanks for the beer link!

Looks like we should add Haunted Mansion to our list.

Thanks!

IMHO I honestly think that you guys should try to do everything together. As long as DD6 is tall enough, she should be able to go on just about everything. Disney really is a totally different experience than any other "regular" amusement park. Even the "scary" rides seem to be a little less scary. I would say everything at MK would be a go for all of you, same with Epcot (maybe the less intense version of Mission:Space). Animal Kingdom-maybe not Expedition Everest, but if DD isn't scared, you should try it out. Same with Dinosaur. At HS I would say do everything together with the exception of RnR-again if she isn't scared, definitely do it with her! And ToT isn't as scary as a lot of folks tend to make it. If you guys have never been before, it'll be worth it to attempt to try everything out!!!

Have a great time!!!

Our first trip, we all did everything together. You never know what someone is going to like. We learned on that trip which things worked for us and which didn't. My DH liked to do anything the kids wanted to do. He enjoyed watching them as much as anything. I wouldn't count out attraction where our DD meets hieght.

Our kids did not like HM, or ToT (they were too short for RnR).
They loved Splash Mtn, BTMRR and those surprised us.
