What are some fun "add-on" things to do?

We are going to Disney at the end of May. I've been like a million times LOL, but I havent really done alot of the "add-on" stuff. Things like renting stuff to do, or character meals.

I booked a character dinner at Chef Mickey's for the evening that we arrive. I also thought about renting those bikes on the boardwalk or at WL....the ones with the basket in the front that can hold a small child. But I'm not sure about the bikes yet. Does anyone know of any fun things we could do? We are going to MGM, IOA, and Sea World as well.

It will be me, my husband, and our 2 year old daughter. I'm not talking about things like DQ or water parks....just some smaller things.

I thought about the hayride at Fort Wilderness.....but I'm afraid my two year old would not sit still that long and would ruin our (and everyone else's) hayride experience.

I probably won't be much help...but I'll try! :sunny:

It actually sounds like a pretty full plate, and especially with a 2 yr old. My only suggestions would have been things you mentioned already. When we traveled with our then 18 month DS :earsboy: it was really enough for all of us just to tour the parks. We would go for awhile in the AM, come back to the hotel for a swim or rest and go back in the evening. We only did one character breakfast and to be honest I don't know if DS could have handled much more. We did go walking around the boardwalk, but decided against renting bicycles (ds was in his stroller resting anyway :ssst: ). A lot of the other activities the WDW offers will be better when your child is older (mini-golf, canoeing, etc.) We are going back in October and with our 4 yr DS and 14 mo DD we are going to take our time. We also plan to go to Seaworld, but really it's about the rides and fun stuff at the parks.

Sorry I wasn't more of a help...

I hope you have a wonderful and fun trip! :wizard:

A two year old is tough. We went to the Hoop De Doo Revue with our three year old and we had to take her out half way though. It's just so hard for them to sit through a lot of things. I would just make sure she has a lot of time to just run around. We visit each playground in whichever park we are visiting and make afternoons pool time. She would probably enjoy that more than a show where she has to stay in her seat. Character dining with buffets are always a hit with our kids, we usually hit Crystal Palace. Good luck!

On our many trips to WDW when our youngest daughter was 10 months & 22 months we had babysitting come in and had a night for ourselves ... this aloud DD's a mid trip early night to get some rest and a chance for my DH and me to have a quiet diner. We used Disney in room child care (DD is now 17 so I am not too sure what they call it) and used the same care provider on every trip, it got to the point that the girls would look forward to their time with Nanny Smith and their ice cream (She would take them for a walk & a dish ice cream before we would leave so they did not get the feeling we were leaving them) it was all good.....everyone happy......by the time we got in after dinner and a evening stroll the kids were fast asleep

The next day the kids were well rested, and DH and I were also ready for the rest of our vacation....HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY...Only at Disney I Love This place....

I hear at Fort Wilderness they have a petting zoo area...I know these were always (and are still) big hits with my kids. I think they have hay rides too. I've never been to either, but plan to try them out on our next trip. Also, try Legoland at Downtown Disney. They have lots and lots of Legos of different sizes set up in huge bins outside of the Lego store along with at small slide and playhouse-type area. This was a big hit on our last vacation and my kids still talk about it. Have a wonderful trip!!!! :sunny:
