First time going in December. I know about MVMCP. What else should I be considering? Family of 6, kids 10 and under

Moved you to Tips because touring the Deluxe Resorts is a December highlight to view all the gingerbread displays and the trees.

There’s also a Christmas Tree trail at Disney Springs along with entertainment and characters strolling around.

I too am going in December for the first time. Good info to know. Hoping there is more to come.

Epcot World Showcase has holiday entertainers at the various pavilions. They are very entertaining and showcase holiday traditions in the various countries. Also Candlelight Processional is a must do for us. We always book a candlelight processional package with dining at one of the Epcot area restaurants which gives you priority seating. This can get pricey with a large family. These packages require 2 table service dining credits if you are on the dining package. I think these packages come out in July or August.

I second touring a few of the deluxe resorts. The gingerbread house in the GF is a must see. The tree in the AKL is very nice. When you are in Epcot you can wander out the International Gateway and check out the Epcot resorts.

The resorts are amazing at that time of year, and Disney Springs offers a lot of holiday spirit, too. There has been a drone show there, which I have not seen yet, but maybe this year if it starts early enough. There is Santa to visit, and excellent live entertainment to enjoy, as well.

There has also been "the Christmas Tree Trail" at DS, which was the most spectacularly UNDERwhelming thing I had ever experienced at WDW. But maybe in children's eyes, it is better.

I would love to do a carriage ride around FW Campground to see the campsite decorations.

Best time of year ever to visit WDW, in my opinion.

I know it's already been mentioned a couple times, but the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is an absolute must! You can easily ride the monorail over from MK. Sometimes they have special events like demos that are fun for kids. You could call ahead for an event calendar.

We've gone in December several times and THIS is one of my favorite memories. It's fairly affordable and was sooooo relaxing. We scheduled the "sleigh" carriage ride after a night at Hoop Dee Doo and it was just the perfect night. We are big outdoor decorators and I could not believe how "straight up Clark Griswold" some of the campsite decorations are -- and I mean that as the utmost compliment!

Also, if you plan on checking out the resort decorations, be sure to check their recreation schedules too. A lot of the resorts have special entertainment, at least in late December. We've seen an awesome bell choir at WL, Victorian carolers at POFQ, holiday songs from the usual orchestra at GF, etc. Lots of good stuff and, even if it's not posted on a schedule, I hope you can luck up into some of it!

Epcot Holiday’s Around The World where they can see all Santa’s from that specific country is pretty neat :-)

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail is very cute for the little ones.

Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has people who decorate the outside of their campers or their cabins with Christmas decor.

Magic Kingdom has the castle lighting with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf which I saw two years ago and thought it was so cute.

Disney Resorts each have their own display of gingerbread designs that fit well into the themes of the hotel plus they have magnificent Christmas trees with cute little ornaments.

*MUST DO* Epcot’s Candlelight Processional

December is the most magical time to visit Walt Disney World :-) Have a magical vacation!
