WHAT ARE PEOPLE PAYING EACH MONTH FOR STUDENT LOANS?

We got ours paid off about ten years ago....we are 37&39. But we found out my in-laws had deferred the portion they took out so we are paying that. Its only $200 per month.

$0 but after DH and I graduated (two bachelors, one masters) we owed about $120,000 and paid about $1400 a month. It seems crazy now to have owed that much money. However, we did pay it all off (many years of bonuses and tax refunds thrown at it.) They've been paid off for at least 5 years now and we're in our late 30's. So I guess it wasn't too crazy... And we have 9 years left before it starts all over again with DD. :upsidedow

I am student debt free thanks to a teacher loan forgiveness program that forgave about $7000 i had in loans (I had grants and scholarships for most of my degrees). My husband has about $20k in student loans and is currently supposed to pay $0 based on the income based payment but we pay about $100 a month to help get it down. Hes a paramedic/medical technician so he can get the rest forgiven after 10 years of service. He's at about 3 years right now.

about 600 per month. Will be paying for 30 years. I wish I could pay a large amount right now but living in NYC its just not possible especially since we are trying to have baby #2 which will be a huge expense (not trying to have a baby, but the cost of raising a child in NYC). I always say, if I win the lotto the first thing I will do is pay off my school loans!

Not too many horror stories here. Kudos to all who managed to survive the loan for college situation.
