What are our chances

We decided to cancel our August trip and plan a last minute trip for 2 weeks from now.

We need 2 studios and prefer our home resort (BW) but would be willing to do BCV!

Unfortunatly there are no studios available for either resort. I am considering waitlisting - given we are within the 30 day mark my gut tells me probably no chance but I am hoping for encouraging words of hope! (I really want reality so I can just get over the fact I can't stay at HOME!)

If I can't get these 2 we plan to pay cash at Dolphin just to stay in the area - We are annual pass holders and get discounts at BWV and BCV but not enough to make it worth it. I get the Dolphin for $149/night (nurse rate) I need 2 rooms!

What would you do?

If I waitlist do they only call if you get your exact request or do they call if lets say a 2 bedroom opens and I waitlisted for 2 studios?

Any harm in waitlisting?

When are you planning your vacation, members homecoming is next week, and i know they are sold out, with a long waitlist.
what ever you waitlist for that is how they will match. if you are looking for 2 studios, then they will match 2 studios, not a 2 bedroom, unless you also wait for the 2 bedroom.

i found waitlist for day by day is easier, although if you dont get your day in the middle of your stay you will have to move. but you have a better chance since in order for you to get your complete stay, someone would have to cancel your dates. and with 2 studios it will be even harder. ms only holds the waitlist up to 7 days arrival, after that you will have to call every day to check.

If you are open to anything at either resort i.e., one-bedroom, two-bedroom, etc. ask to be put on the waitlist for all the options. If you are concerned about mixing up the points, tell them you don't want automatic confirimation, you want to be called (they usually give you to 5:00 p.m. the next day to say yes or no). If you are on a wait list only for a studio, you will only be called when studios are available. You can also ask to be called as individual days become available. You need to keep close track of what you book and if you need to cancel options as you piece together your trip.

It's not impossible that something will come through but it is probably pretty unlikely that you'll get two studios for all the days.

I could get a 1bdrm and then a studio! (I think I have enough points!)

Maybe that will be a good option! If I can get a 2 bedroom that would be okay also but I would prefer 2 separate units.

I am just concerned because BW is where we love and we spend lots of time there. Now I need to get a car to go there.

I notice your name has OKW that is where we booked. I have never stayed there, I planned to when teh kids (7 & 5) were older so we could golf but I am concerned with the nighttime entertainment and there not being anything to do like at Boardwalk.

What is OKW like at night! Is the resort so large you need to shuttle around it?

Where is the best place to stay on that property for 3 kids under age 8 (7-6-5)

I was put on the waitlist for HH in August last week, and MS told me they keep you on until 31 days before.

Can you please let me know how to get a "nurse rate"? I'm an RN, and didn't know that they existed! Thanks, and good luck, just be sure that they have it down to CALL FIRST for your waitlist, and not to automatically confirm it unless it's exactly what you want for sure (if they do it automatically, and you decide that it's not worth it for whatever reason, ie cancellation policy at where ever your alternative ressies are, etc., then all points used for this will go into a holding account.)
