What are our chances for a studio?

We're at the tail end of buying resale... just got the closing documents yesterday, heading to the bank and post office today get cashier's check and overnight them back. I don't anticipate any hold-up on the sellers' part. They have been very quick to return counteroffers, contracts, etc.

Our contract has an extra 60 banked points that will expire before we plan on using them for our big family trip next December. I've convinvced my husband that we should use them (instead of renting) and go away for a long weekend. We would have to travel in January or February due to work commitments. The other option is in July/August- but don't want to because of the heat.

So my question is, what are my chances of finding a studio for 3-4 nights anywhere on property at less than 7 months out? Do we have a shot at making this happen? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the property,but generally speaking,late Jan/Feb.are a good time of year to get a studio in most, OKW my favorite has many and is a large one as well as SSR .

If your dates and resort are flexible, I predict no trouble finding a long weekend between mid-January and mid-February.

Thank you! I don't really expect that we'll get a studio at our home resort of BLT, but it's nice to know we have a shot at SSR or OKW.

I just booked a studio at BLT for early March, lake view, 6 nights (Saturday to Friday).

March- June is a really crazy time for both of us at work... we really have only January or February or wait until after the end of June. But it's good to know that I might have a chance. Ultimately we would both love a MK view studio for 4 nights in January. But anywhere in WDW would be great!

You never know. I just booked a studio for 5 nights for NEXT weekend! I had a choice of SSR or AKV-Kidani. We decided to get out of town and took a look and was surprised. Good luck.

I agree you never know until you try it... we just got our one more day at boardwalk added on! and my husband and I deceided t go up a day early and got a savanana view studio at Kidano, so dinner at Boma coming right up!
I sure feel bad for all the peeps trying to get into Orlando this sunday-wed... bummer.

As long as you avoid marathon weekend (2nd weekend in January) and President's Day weekend, you should not have a problem finding something 4-5 months out at OKW or SSR in January or February.

Don't wait for your membership card in the mail; a few days after closing, call Member Administration and see if they can give you your member number so you can go ahead and call Member Services for a reservation.

I just spent the morning actually having to choose a resort. I had my pick of all of them and chose... the Boardwalk w/garden/pool view! We could have had a room at BLT but the dates didn't really line up for work. We would have had to take off most of the week to make it work, but we're going next December to BLT so we'll get to see our home resort then. Now I'm off to plan ADRs... yum
