What are my options with a Feb. UY November trip cancel?

I booked a reservation for friends for their honeymoon in November using some borrowed, some current points as their wedding gift. Due to their personal circumstances and the parks not being a full experience this year, they have decided to wait and go on their one year anniversary.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle this. I have a February UY.
Will my borrowed points still need to be used by the end of my current UY, or are borrowed points being returned to their original UY?
If I cancel online, will I still have the option to return my borrowed points to their original UY (if they are even still doing that)?
Would it be possible to call and modify the reservation dates/names to avoid the 50% borrowed restriction since the points were borrowed before the closure?
Any other options?

That policy can change any day. If you want yo rebook something with what has already been borrowed, I was told via email that as long as you do it before they put points back, you can keep them.

Other have been told differently, but my reservation was not canceled by DVC after they reviewed my account,

So, give MS a call if you simply want to change the reservation to keep all the points who have.

Mine were for my August trip. So, yes, they should be. I did follow up with an email, even though it is supposed to be automatic within 15 days.
 

I would call to determine the issue. Your reservation is beyond the period for which members have reported having borrowed points returned to original use year.

Thank you for your response. I canceled online earlier today, then sent an email asking if the points could be returned to the original UY, and if not, if they would be exempt from the 50% borrowing limit since they were borrowed before the limit was imposed. If the answer to both of those questions is no, hopefully they will reallocate the points to an existing December reservation I have. I’ll follow up here once I get a reply.
 
Update: I had time to call this morning and ask what would happen to my borrowed points. The vacation advisor was helpful and returned all of my borrowed points back to the original use year. I wasn’t really expecting that to be an option, but she offered it, and I accepted!
