What are my chances...

Hey all,

I'm going to a convention in Orlando in October. I'm going without wife and kids, so I'm staying at Universal for five days (never been there before). I'm thinking of making that three nights and moving to Disney (ah, home...) for the last two nights. What do you think my chances of getting a studio for October 12 and 13 are? Is there anything special going on at that time of year that would increase occupancy. I'll call member services in the morning, but I thought I'd check and see what you all think.

That is during the Food and Wine Festival and is also Columbus Day Weekend, so I think your chances are very slim, perhaps not impossible, but slim. You may have some luck with OKW and SSR, but I am not sure if there are already waiting lists for this holiday weekend?

Give it a try---but call now. I was able to get VWL, BWV, OKW or SSR for availbility Oct 5-9, 2006. I was requesting a studio at 60 days out and the above resorts all had availability.

I'm wait listed for Oct 12th at SSR for the studio. Just went on the wait list on Monday of this week. I assume it's due to the holiday weekend. We have the 13 & 14 at SSR then moving to AKV Oct 15-18th.
