What are my chances with this wait list?

I changed a HHI trip to a WDW trip on the spur of the moment! I took advantage of really great airfare and my family really needed our WDW fix!LOL

So all that was available was OKW(1 bedroom)for my dates 4/27-5/1. I just called for the heck of it to see if anything else was available. Of course there wasn't, so I wait listed for the following:
AKV any studio or one bedroom standard or value.
BCV studio
BWV any studio, or one bedroom standard.

I only had 102 points to work with. Anyway since the wait list will stop searching 7 days before the trip, I have 2 weeks for any of those to become available. So, do I have any chance of any of these becoming available? If nothing comes through would you still keep calling day by day the week before or that would be a waist?

I'm sure we would have a great time at OKW, it just isn't the first choice for any of us and I wasn't able to book the HH category. I know the resort is huge and we will not have a car and being close to the HH would be preferred.

Boy, I'm surprised that OKW had room but SSR didn't! I know that at this point, I would be very happy at OKW, even without a car. It's funny that Diane's answer wasn't "there" when I hit reply, but yes, that's what I would do!!!

Sorry to steer off topic on my own thread but,
I know there are many OKW lovers here. But would we like it if we have a long trek to the HH house, or are in a building with no elevator? My DH has hand and back injuries and there is no way we could carry all our stuff and kids up 3 flights. Are there bellhops to help you or are you on your own?

There are bellman/bellwomen who will come help you. And since it sounds like you are taking DME (no car) they deliver anyway. You can call and request a first floor for Medical Reasons (you may get a HA room then)

Pesonally I love OKW, I don't find it "huge" and I have never seen the real appeal of the HH location.

Thank you, that's good to know. I did request first floor but I didn't say for medical reasons because I did not want to run the risk of getting a HA room. I need a tub for my DS.

After the wait list cuts off call daily several times until closing the day before you check in. You might even call on check in day just in case. I'd say you have a decent chance of getting something else.

I agree; I don't understand why they even have it as a preferred location. If you are someplace else at the resort and you want to head to the main pool, just hop any bus. And if you want to get back to your location, just walk over to Peninsular Road bus stop and ride back to your location.
