...getting a basic room at BWV or Beach Club exactly 7 months in advance for a weekend in October during F+W? Our home resort is BLT...but we want to be near Epcot. I know these are at a premium during F+W due to their location. Just curious if anyone has been successful at it.

It's possible. BWV owners will not book the entire resort before the 7 month window opens. But obviously for the best chance, you will be online ready to book at 8 am Eastern on the exact day your 7 month window opens. You will have lots of competition.

Plan on a Pool/Garden view. Boardwalk view and standard view are unlikely to be available at 7 months.

I tried for a week in mid-October for a one bedroom villa last year at seven months out at BCV. There were none available exactly at 8AM ET for seven nights.

I think it is getting harder to get some of these smaller resorts for the very popular times.

We own at BLT also and made a ressie for an October weekend (F&W was the sole reason for the trip). I tried to move to both BWV and BCV at the 7 month window and they were booked. Waitlisted for BWV and it didn't come thru. My suggestion is to make a reservation for BLT - transportation is very easy over to Epcot from there. good Luck!

And if you don't get it, keep looking and try. We ended up changing from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom BWV I June last year for an October weekend. Through a wait list and getting a day or two on the website, I ended up with what I wanted as people changed their own vacations.

What do you mean by a "basic room"? Your best chance of getting something, especially on the weekend during F&W, would be a 1BR. Studios sell out long before the 1BRs do.

By basic room I meant the lowest point value possible. Without looking at the charts and resorts, I didn't know what they called them at those two resorts as we've never stayed at either. I didn't want to assume that it was a studio and be wrong.

Anyway, thanks to the others who chimed in. I think we'll take a shot at it and see what happens.

You have little chance of getting a standard view studio at BWV during Food and Wine. There were BWV owners who reported getting shut out of those early in the 11-month window. Many people own at BWV specifically to be able to book there for F&W.

You'll have far better luck aiming for pool/garden view.
