We are planning on the suites as of now, we are booking this weekend.
It will be me, dh, and our four kids, and my best friend. Because we have a third adult in the suite we will be charged 10 dollars more per night, and my youngest child is only 2, so she doesn't count as one in the room.
I just looked up the cost for 2 regular rooms and it is 20 dollars cheaper per night(adding in that extra 10 dollar fee) I know it's not much but, why not try to save when you can , right.
My question is, what chance would we have at getting connecting rooms? I know they only gaurantee them when there are only 2 adults and their kids, but because there is an extra adult, i'm not sure we would def. get them. If not obviously we wouldn't do that because I'm not going to have my kids sleeping in a different room from us.:confused3

I think most people who request them, get them. But if it is important to your trip, don't bank on it. We were "guaranteed" connecting rooms on a trip in 2005, and they didn't have any left. Can't get them if they aren't available!! Now, we plan trips around whether we HAVE to have connecting rooms. The all star music suites don't charge extra adult fees at all, I heard.

Oh really, they don't charge extra adult fees. I read that somewhere, I thought it was on the Disneyworld website. Well that would be nice if they dont'. Yeah the more I think about it anyway, i'd rather be on the safe side and stay with the suite.

I am pretty sure that for some reason, the all star music suites don't charge the extra adult fee. The regular rooms sure do, though!!

I was told by a CM that if the kids outnumber the adults you will definetly get a connecting room. They are usually pretty good about trying to get you connecting rooms. Have you looked into the cabins? They have a full kitchen, 2 tvs, dvd player, bbq, they also sleep 6. We are trying them out next month.

I was told the same thing...HOWEVER, it didn't happen (I was one adult with 4 kids under 11, for some of the stay, and 2 adults with the 4 kids part of the stay). It was almost an emergency for us, not knowing what to do when the second adult was gone! It was carefully explained to me from the corporate level months later that even when the reservation says "Guaranteed" all they can do is their best to accomodate...

All comes down to supply and demand. If 10 families check in, all with 4 kids 2 adults, and only 8 sets of connecting rooms are coming available that day, 2 families are outta luck, even with their "Guaranteed Connecting Rooms for Families."

BTW. It's only happened to us once, when no more connecting rooms were available. But we learned on that one attempt NOT to COUNT on connecting rooms. If we have to have connecting, we'll get a suite.

When we requested connecting rooms at All Star Movies we got them.
