What are my chances of getting AK Club Level?

I am not a DVC owner and plan on renting points.

We are going to Disney April 27 - May 4 this year. What are my chances of getting a 1 or 2 bedroom AK Club level for any of those dates?

I would even take 3 or 4 days at the beginning or end of our stay if it meant we could have club level.

Is there any other DVC resorts with Club Level or is AK it?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Zero

Its only AK, its only a few rooms, and they were gone seven months ago.

There are only five 2-bedroom lock-offs (1-bedroom & studio w/interior connecting door) that make up the DVC portion of the Concierge Level rooms. These are only in AKV Jambo House on the 6th floor.

You possibly could get a hotel room club level though booking thru CRO. But not DVC club on points.

Slim and none and slim is packing to move out of town.

This really has to be an 11 month booking IMHO and even then it's a luck of the draw. Occasionally you will see one open night but getting a big block like OP wants this late is practically impossible IMHO.

Thanks everyone. I am looking at Beach Club and GF- Sugar Loaf now as they have availability.

Any opinions on their CL would be greatly appreciated!

I own at AKV, and rarely can get it at 11 months at the minute I can reserve on-line. I had no luck recently, those reservations are being walked sometimes months ahead of time. Sorry!

Also for future reference: Members can reserve at home resort 11 months out and then at any other resort 7 months out. A Number of booking categories including AKV club level go quickly 11 months out. There is then usually a frenzy of reserving activity at 7 months out for much that is still left over. Wait beyond 7 months , like you are now, and pickings will be much slimmer than they were at 7 months out. You may find SSR, and possibly even OKW or AKV standard or savanna view at 3 months out open but anything else would likely be real difficult.

Just had to update-

a 1 bedroom AK club level did open up for April 29. If that was the last day of our trip I would have snagged it but it is the middle of our trip and changing rooms twice doesn't sound too appealing.

If you are renting points, how are you going to snag it? By the time you contact the owner, and they make time to make the reservation for you, it is likely to be gone. For that matter, how did you know it was available? Unless you have your own DVC account, you can't see DVC availability.

I was speaking with a DVC owner in real time this morning- he was looking at the opening as we were talking. If I said yes he would have made the reservation right away and I would have paid him once I received reservation confirmation.

Is that unusual?

Sugar Loaf at GF is completely wonderful. We stayed there every year till we joined DVC in 2010.

Yes, it's unusual for a CL room to open up, but not unheard of. Members who really want a CL room at AKV-Jambo need to book as soon as they see it available. They never last very long. :)

Last week, we needed to change our vacation plans due to the snow days we have had in the area. By chance, there happened to be a CL level 1BR available for one night during the week I needed to have, but, it was a Thursday. I would want to stay to go on the sunrise safari, so, wouldn't want to stay on a day/night that it wasn't available. I didn't want to change rooms twice, anyway, because we like Kidani, and that is where we are staying.

Really unusual and the chances of it happening while a renter was talking real time to an owner to make it bookable would be infinitesimal.

But still why there's a saying to never say never. :goodvibes

Yep, that's why I seldom do. There is always the chance lightening will strike. Although, if I'm going to get lucky, I'd rather have it be the lottery than a conceirge room at VAKL ;)

If she were a member, I wouldn't have said zero since members can make their own luck by haunting the reservation site - giving them more opportunities for a winning lottery ticket.

Can someone tell me what you get with the club rooms that isn't available with the regular bookings? Just curious as it sounds unlikely we would get a reservation at 7 months.
