What are little things you do to stay a little bit healthier - cooking or lifestyle?
For example:
I only use canola and olive oil when cooking. Even if it calls for vegetable oil, I substitute with canola or olive. We don't carry any other oil in our house at all.
I used to use fruit substitute when making cakes and brownies. That eliminated ALL the oil and it made the bakery taste a million times better. But the stores around here don't carry it anymore, so I use canola. (If I go out of town and see it, I buy several jars)
I don't carry too many snacks in the house. Instead of buying potato chips, I make homemade popcorn (in canola oil of course
).
We don't drink soda, unless we go out to eat somewhere. We drink either milk, 100% fruit juice or water.
When I eat eggs, I throw away the yolk and only eat the white.
I prefer to make homemade pizzas, so then I can use the best ingredients and use low fat cheese and turkey pepperoni.
I use the stairs instead of the elevator.
I park in the last space when parking (within reason --not at WDW. That would be completely rediculous!!!
)
So, what do you do to keep a little bit healthier?
