What are Lime Green ribbons?

I keep hearing about lime green ribbons at Disney. Could someone please tell a newcomer what they are, what they are for and what they mean?
By, the way, I just want to let all of you know, I am really addicted to these boards. I must check them out 5 times a day!

Ok, but what do we do, put them on our stroller, wear them in our hair, tie it on our clothes? I think that is a great idea! What a wonderful way to recognize each other!
