I have been reading about these on the Boards and have no idea what they are. Can someone please give me a description?

Thanks.

Hi Kathyg,

The french toast loaf can be found at Main Street Bakery in MK. I have never actually had it but I believe it is a layered loaf and sliced. I did look at it last visit (before I knew it was so popular) but had already ordered something else. When I went back later on that evening to get one for the next morning, they were sold out. It did look sooo delicious so I plan to have one next visit. Hopefully someone else has a better explanation.

School bread can be found at the bakery (Kringla) in Norway (WS at Epcot). The best way I can describe it is a custard filled "donut" with white frosting and coconut on top. It was good but to me the "cake" part was pretty dry. Sorry to the school bread lovers out there. It is also very BIG!!

I've never had anything similar to French Toast loaf before. The closest way I can compare it is to a slice of very moist coffee cake (but with layers). It was very good! I am going to try to make it at home from recipe on allearsnet.com. I did not try the school bread in Norway, although I did see one at Kringla. It is a pastry with lots of shredded coconut on top; I'm not a fan of coconut so while it looked good, I knew I wouldn't care for it. You can also find a recipe for school bread at http://allearsnet.com/din/rec.htm.

Tried the school bread - wasn't that great, but, as always, try it for yourself. Some folks here love it!

Haven't tried the french toast loaf.
