what are dvc "guides"?

throughout this forum I see many references to member's "guides"- what are these? how do you know who your guide is? will I get this information once I close on the membership?

Welcome to the DIS

Guides are Disney's title for the person who sells the timeshares at Disney. If you bought resale you would not have a guide. If you took a tour or requested information, bought an add-on, etc you will be assigned a guide.
