What are crafts you can make on board like?

The only one I have done was a 'make your own scrapbook page' or something like that. They provided decorative background paper in 2 choices, but people were greedy and instead of making a choice and taking one background per person, a lot of people took one of each, so that the decorative paper ran out quickly. They had gel-type pens to use to decorate, and scissors and glue to cut out photos or whatnot out of an old show program to glue onto your background. So... not high quality. If I run across the page I made, I'll post a pic later.
It was just something to pass the time. If I were looking to make a fancy scrapbook page (or had paid money for the experience), I would have been disappointed.
(edited to add-- I'm an adult-- can't speak to the experience of kids/teens who did this)

My daughter and I made door hangers on the Dream in June 2017. They were the foam door hangers. Then they had foam shapes, letters, and numbers with double sided tape and glitter glue.

The 3D crafts are paper you cut and glue together to make things like a ship model, Pirate Mickey, Pascal from Tangled, frozen was an Olaf and Anna.
Even if we didn’t have time to do a 3D crafts cause we wanted to do another activity we did stop by and grab a sheet to do later when we got home.

Found a video of an example.
We did this one in November on the Magic.

There was also Inside out Memory Orbs where you fill clear ornaments with clippings from the navigators and foil strips. Anything to make your own memory ornaments.

We liked the make your own buttons. They supplied blank buttons, paper, small pictures and they would laminate the buttons
after you personalized them. It was fun. You could bring your own small disney stickers to use too.

We made a pre-cut Crescent Moon shaped wood wind chime that you could color and hang chimes from. It wasn't very different than the mass produced crafts from Michaels or Oriental Trading.

My favorite was the ADULT make a tile coaster in O'Gills. Your are provided with a balsa wood frame and glue colored tiles in place. The not wanting glue and the small tiles are what make it an adult craft.

On the Magic they had a Tangled placement that you could roll and make a lantern.

We did this on the fantasy in May and the bar was filled with kids. People even brought crying babies. It was not enforced as “adult only”.

I noticed this on the Magic too. They didn’t enforce the Adults only activities during the day.

Yeah - I had the same on the Fantasy in 2016. The mom even said “I know it is adult only, but they love crafts” and rather than the CM enforce it, she put it to a vote among the rest of us (as in “Does anyone have a problem with them staying?”) - and of course no one wanted to be that person doing what the CM should be. I mentioned it on my comment card (and left early, letting the CM at the door know why). Sad to see they would rather take away adult only things to appease the selfish than empower their CMs to enforce rules. Especially since they make a point of saying they have activities for adults to do without children.

That's a great idea to grab a sheet to do later at home! DD18 made some 3D crafts on the ship and they didn't travel well in the 3D form, she was also rushed doing one of them as we were trying to get to another activity.

I must of have lucked out then. Maybe it is time for Disney to start holding adult activities, crafts or trivia in the Adult areas of the ship where it would be less likely to ensure activity remains for the adults.

The coaster making I went to was. But it was during the day when anyone is allowed in the area. There was a family in another section of the pub playing games, and it was not a problem. It was the selfish mom who thought her little ones should be allowed because "they love doing crafts". Last I checked, there is an area where they can do arts-type stuff in the clubs even if it's not an organized activity. It was just not a good situation - especially when the CM put all the other guests in the position of either letting the kids stay or being "that person" who didn't allow a child to do what she wanted.

If it's time for anything, it's time for Disney to empower their CMs to enforce age limits and not be so overly worried about offending someone. NOT for them to start moving things because some people think they don't have to follow the rules.

I would have been the 0ne to say something. Adults on is adults only. Pretty sure I would get escorted out if I tried to take over the kids club :opirate:
