What are benefits to adding small Direct contract?

We bought BWV resale 210 points August UY back in 2014 (I believe, could've been 2013 - either way we are grandfathered in with the resale benefits and were not affected by the change).

Besides MORE points, what would be the benefit to adding on a small Direct contract?

Since your already grandfathered in for the other benefits, not a heck of a lot other then being able to use those points on cruise, ABD and such but if its a small contract you are probably not going to use it for that.

Depending on how many points you want to purchase, if buying under 50 points, it might be easier to buy direct and won't cost you a lot more money than buying resale.

Yea thats what we are doing. Bought resale and adding a small 25 point contract to get benefits.
