I have seen a couple of references to a restaurant called Groovy's. What type of place is it and where is it located?

Never heard of Groovys. Are you sure you arent thinking of Goofys? Its a character meal at the Disneyland hotel.

If it is goofy's kitchen you mean. It was great, we had 3 character meals on our recent trip (just got back). ANd by far Goofy's was the best, good food, great character interaction. We got there right at 5 earlies for dinner and it was great. So much fun. My kids are 11 and 8 but we went with friends that have 10 8 and 5 year olds and ALLL the kids loved it. My kids want to go back to goofy's again.

Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel is a character meal, and the only one that serves breakfast and dinner (and often lunch). Its a lot of fun, we have eaten there about 10 times through the years and never had a bad meal. The adults and kids in our party have always enjoyed it.

From Disneyland, or California Adventure its about a 10-15 minute walk up Downtown Disney. You can also take the monorail from inside Disneyland, the Tomorrowland Station, and it will take you within about a 3-5 minute walk of the restaurant. Regardless, just keep walking down Downtown Disney, all the way, or from the monorail station, it basically dead ends at the restaurant itself, just past the pool at the Disneyland Hotel.

Note that those prices listed do NOT include the tax and 18% gratuity that they automatically charge you. You pay as soon as you check in. For adults dinner, averages out to around $35 per adult. So its pricey but a lot of fun and a lot of food so you at least won't leave hungry!

You can call: 714-781-3463 up to 60 days in advance of when you want to go. And I highly recommend making an advanced reservation, they often won't take walk ups and if they do, it can be a lengthy wait.

If you have AAA they do give a discount. I think its either 5 or 10%. They don't advertise that much however!
