What and where are storytellers in Epcot?

Had on my bucket list a trip to Disney in December. I can cross that off as we are going in December. What exactly are the not miss things to see besides the deluxe resorts? I don't know what the storytellers are in Epcot but have heard people mentioning it on past threads.

The Holiday Storytellers are the different countries version of Santa or other holiday unique to that country (China doesn't have a Santa, nor does Morocco, but they do have a storyteller about one of their holidays).

Each presentation is about 15 min long and all of them are very good. Kenny the Pirate should have the time schedule once it comes out, but it will also be on your times guide for the day.

Are the storytellers outside the pavilions or are they inside?

Most are outside. We love this part of the holidays at Epcot and try to get to all of them during our stay. Every country has something, even if just a New Year tradition or a major holiday if they don't celebrate Christmas. Though the locations might change and the "stand" might be updated, we look for a white or off white stand with a scroll or flat surface on it. Part of the holiday story is printed here if you want to read it. This is the area where the storyteller will appear, so we try to get there a few minutes before. People just gather around to hear the story.

I think the only pavilion that has one inside is the USA, they do Kwanza outside and Hanukkah inside. Mr & Mrs Clause are outside too but are taking requests from kids (of all ages) and not telling their story.

The appearance times are printed on the park Times Guide, hard to see all of them in one day due the appearance times being staggered, and they don't appear at night. It's well worth making time to see them.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware that they aren't there at night.

Great to know the times are all through the afternoon and early evening.

One thing I found very helpful, and I am a nerd, is, once the schedule and times are available, cut and paste into whatever you want and then organize it by the way the countries are around World Showcase. The released schedule will show the countries alphabetical and it helped us if we were walking along and looked at our schedule and saw a storyteller was going to start either in that country or the next one so we could "plan" our day better.

I love the story tellers, and every time I visit during December my goal is to see them all. But I never seem to be able to do it. The timing wasn't very conducive if you want to see them in order within a brief amount of time. It seemed like when one finished, the next one who was going to start was many countries away. It was too far to get there without practically running. But if you hung around where you were until the one in an adjacent country told the story, you'd have to kill a lot of time where you were until that one started.

Next time I'll have to try disnut8's technique.
