I have been trying for last 5 weeks to reserve car for 1 week, 9/24-10/1 at MCO.

I would be OK with compact or intermediate. the best prices I have been able to get are Alamo compact 163, Dollar compact 173 and National intermediate 166.

I keep reading posts where people are doing much better. Am I wrong to assume that people are posting the complete price?

I have joined the emerald club and tried using the codes from mousesavers. I would be very happy to get in the $125 price. Does anyone think that is realistic?

try going to alamo again click on the deals then click on up to 15 percent off deal.Put in your dates and see what comes up.Last night i reserved a SUV for 50 dollars less than an economy car.11 day suv rental for october for $265 total.Let me know what happens :wizard: I just put in your dates and got the suv rate at $164 total.Idont know if you need the room but just checking.

I did what you suggested and reserved chev equinox SUV for 163.43 from Alamo. Every little bit helps. I would still like to find something in the $125 price. There were a number of posters that said they got that or less. I also have the grand am at National with Emerald Isle for $167.33. I will let DH decide which of these 2 he would prefer. There are only 2 of us. thanks for your reply

I'm so glad I read this! I just saved another $20 and got the SUV! I love these boards! :cool1:

The reason some of us have such low rates are because we booked them a long time ago when the rates were really low. I have a full size booked for September for 9 days and my total is $131 using the priceless code 6600330 and $20 coupon 10009123. When the rates are low you can book and modify later if your times change. You can even book then add a coupon later. Hopefully since September is a slower time to visit, the rates may drop before your trip. Just keep an eye on the boards, both transportation and budget.

we are going in a week :cool1:  and have not had good luck either. The very best I can seem to get is $174. for 8 days. I knew we're messed up because of the 8th day, but STILL!!! I wanted it about $125 too.
I keep watching though. Maybe they will have alast minute deal! :flower:

I just look at Thrifty used your dates 9/24 - 10/01 and found a $89 rate - it was $123 after all the taxes. That was for a compact. It was $7 more for an intermediate. That was with no discount - I think AAA will get you 5 - 10 % and the Walmart code also will get you 10%. Give that a try. Good luck.

Would you believe this! I posted this message on 8/5 in the AM, and was wearing a cardio net heart monitor. Got a call at 5:00PM had to go to ER immediately. Was admitted and just got home today 8/10 3:30PM! Couldn't wait to get back to these boards as they get my mind on to better things! I retried National and got my rate down a little lower. From 167 to 157. But every little bit will help. Also there was a message on my answer maching to call Hooters about my flight. Seems they changed a 10:00AM-2:00PM flight to a 7:30AM-10:00AM flight! That was nice! When I retried National I used new times. Went from 2:00PM pick-up, drop-offs/ to 10:00AMs. I wonder it that had anthing to do with price change? Thanks for all the previous replys.
