What am I doing wrong with this Magic??

Twice I've gotten Treasure Detector Magic and twice I've gotten nothing from it. I turn it on, I walk around and then it goes away. Why doesn't it work for me? What am I doing wrong??

I would say walk faster. Thats the only suggestion I have. I hate say I was right about this one time use magic but given the choice of all the other prizes, I would least like the one time use treasure finder magic. Thats not to say I would not Buy long term if it became available, but the odds are bad if you use it and get nothing its gone.

You aren't doing anything wrong. Yavn has stated that you will not always get an items so really it's 50/50. I am sure you will get something at some point

Same here...nothing..that magic is dum. My sons girlfriend got one to and also got nothing from it! I don't know of anyone who has found anything really good ... I read on here where couple have gotten a few credits and one 3oo credits... But most are getting nothing. So no its just not you!! Its a bummer I know!!

I've had the same bad luck with it so far. I've only had one, and I used it in Central Plaza. I walked around (stopping frequently, since I've been told that's when you see the treasure?) and then nothing happened. Lots of folks commented that it looked cool, though, and wanted to know where I got it. I'm still not sure if we can even talk about this promotion in-game, or direct anyone to the Ebay site.

First time I used the magic, I clicked far across the map and walked a good distance, barely stopping. Then I was told, stop often. So, I choose a different location and stopped every three spaces. I'm starting to think Grumpy is right.

It's a good thing treasure detector is a one time use magic or we'd be suicidal. I just got a code for this magic and I haven't a clue how to use it other than to not use it in Grumpy's room because his room only gave Aengus 30 credits - which I'm still laughing about!

I will say, if I don't get a prize with my treasure detector magic, I won't complain. Things could be much worse. It could give me turn into salad magic.

The bummer part is it's only a one time use magic.... If it was a regular magic pin that we could use say Once an hour, or twice a day (more than that I hope) it wouldnt be as much of a disapoint as it is being a one time use magic.... With that said, I hope it's not an expensive magic if they release it to the masses... At 30 credits a pop it would take a looooooooooooooooong time to get the cost back (assuming it would be 10,000 like bat)

I am too scared to use mine... Thankfully they changed it to 30 day not just 1. I figure I'll use it on my birthday and hope for some luck that way. I still don't know exactly what to do with it.

Okay - so, I have won Treasure Finder magic 3 times. Since some seem to have questions about it, I thought this might help.

1. Place pin on. (1x use, expires in 30 days)

2. Either double click on it or yell "Gold!" in the room you want to use it in. (I would suggest a not crowded room where you can walk about.)

3. You will see a map in your hands. Start walking. (Visually, it's actually sort of a cool effect.

4. Keep walking. If you land on treasure, your character will stop. If you don't, the magic will just eventually (5 seconds?) just stop its glowing effect.

5. If you win something, you will receive a message right away.

If you don't, you will get no message at all. (I think VMK should change this so you at least know, "Oh, ok, bummer.")

btw - in case you are wondering:
First time - Forbidden Temple: 50 credits
Second time - Pirate Treasure Room: nothing
Third time - Pirate Treasure Room: nothing

So what your saying is... If I am on one side of a room and click all the way over to the other side of the room, I could be stopped in themiddle of that walk IF I find treasure? I think the effect lasts around 10 seconds if you dont find treasure... is it shorter if you do find it??

also anyone win by just doing the magic and NOT walking around??? Just wondering..
