I have never had an issue posting pics before but twice now this week I haven't been able to post an image. Am I setting something up wrong?

This is how I do it:

I had a problem posting a picture a few weeks ago. I finally figured out that it was a problem with the filename. Do you have any non-alphanumeric characters in the filename? If so, take them out and try again.

1) are you images hosted on a website somewhere? if yes, jump down to #2 below. if not, you will need to upload the photos somewhere like photobucket, pbase, smugmug, etc.

2) where are your images hosted? go to your website and view your photo to get the URL. the easiest way is to right click on the photo, choose properties and copy the full url (location including the http:\\)

3) either use the insert photo button and paste the full url (overwrite the http:\\ in the popup) or use the [ img] http:\\www.whereyourphotois.com/yourphoto.jpg[ /img] tags and make sure you paste the full url to your hosted file in between.

edit: 4) if you are using pbase - add .jpg to the end of the page which links your photo to view the photo itself. if you use the url of the photo, the pbase webfarm may not necessarily be consistent. with this one, it's probably easier if you simply PM me and i can help.

What photo hosting site are you using? The reason I ask is that I used to use Snapfish.com. Unfortunately over the last couple of weeks they have changed things and you can no longer post photos from that website on the DIS.

I had been using Snapfish, that's the one I couldn't get to post when someone was asking for a photo of Jasmine a couple of days ago.

This morning I was trying to use Shutterfly and instead of showing the image, it was showing a hyperlink when I tried to preview it.
