Are there two close to Disney - SNA and LAX?
Is there a thread that explains some basic facts about Disneyland?
I am so confused(but in a fun way!) WDW and DL are the same but different!
My family and I have been to WDW twice last year, so now we are trying DL!

The closest airport is SNA (Orange County/John Wayne). It's only 10-15 minutes away.

You could also fly into LGB (Long Beach) which is about 25 minutes.

LAX is farther away and traffic is an issue at certain times of the day. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour plus, depending on that.

SNA, LGB, LAX and ONT are closest. All within 40 miles.

Basic facts? Here is a good read - "A DLR Guide for WDW Vets" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Also, when you abbreviate down to DL some people will think you mean the Disneyland park as opposed to the entire resort which is DLR - Disneyland Resort. :) See "Disneyland Resort Lingo for Newbies" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2214012

I love LGB ~ I've only flown there at LAX and if I never fly into LAX again I won't complain! LGB is less $$ for me, a small easy to navigate airport and close to DLR!

We love SNA! Stay away from LAX -- the airport is disgusting and it is a farther drive with more traffic.

we had never flown into SNA until this last trip( sept 6th-12th) and let me tell you we will never fly into LAX again!!!

We love SNA and LGB. I always double check prices for the two airports and see which is cheaper flying from Utah. It is usually LGB, since JetBlue flies there and flights are usually very reasonably price. But, we have occasionally used SNA and it is very nice.

Both are very close to DLR - just different directions. And both are easy to get to and from, especially if you are renting a car.

The past two trips we've flown into SNA and it's been great. Super easy airport to navigate, and very close to DL - maybe a 20 minute cab ride is all.

I like LAX.

This trip it's a total of $80 cheaper, and that is just in taxes and fees (b/c the base fares were exactly the same to/from SNA and LAX), for the three of us. Since the difference in Grayline Disneyland Express or Super Shuttle from/to LAX vs SNA does not even come *close* to $80, we chose LAX.

Sure SNA is closer, but I kinda like the ride in...relaxes me from the airplane stuff.

If I ever find a flight that doesn't have a stop before SNA, and therefore doesn't have to pay double the taxes/fees, I'll do it again...I just haven't found such a flight yet.

Also, it's always best to find out ALL the transportation info before choosing an airport (if money/transport options are part of your figuring-it-out). I once assumed that Super shuttle costs were the same from all the airports, and booked myself to ONT instead of SNA, as they were the same cost. Whoopsie, ONT is just about the most expensive of all of them, with Super Shuttle. BIG difference in cost.

and lastly, if thinking about SuperShuttle, use the *hotel name* to get a quote, NOT the zipcode. There's a hefty price difference for reasons only truly known to them...use the hotel name. :)
