What airport is near HHI

There's an airport right on HH island. It won't handle large jets, but it's a busy commuter airport.

Closest major airport would be Savannah.

Yes, Savannah's the closest (about 30-40 minutes). Next is Charleston, about 90 minutes. I think Jacksonville is about 3 hours, don't know of any others within a few hours.

The Savannah airport changed its name sometime ago to 'Savannah / Hilton Head International Airport'. (Airport code is 'SAV').

I think the only commercial service to the airport on Hilton Head (airport code HHH) is by US Airways Express, and is pretty much to/from Charlotte NC.

Savannah is a very easy haul, about 40 minutes as someone else posted. I would only fly into Charleston if I wanted to spend some time there. Going from one to the other is not the easiest most direct thing to do.

I haven't checked lately, but Continental has had flights into HH as well.

We're using our Skymiles, and flying into Hilton Head on Delta.

Wow, thanks for that info. We have to fly Continental all the time (it's the only airline in our little airport that goes that way), and we didn't know it goes to HH.
