What age were you when you bought?

Well, I'm not the buyer of DVC, but my parents aren't on these boards, so I'll just speak for them. We just bought into DVC at SSR this June. My mom is 52, my dad is 59, and I'm 16. I'm the primary vacation planner in the family...go figure... I do wish we'd have bought sooner since I'll be going away to college next year.

My husband and I just bought in July. I am 25 and he is 27. It was the right time for us financially and we figured that we wanted to have it bought and paid for before we have the added expense of children.

I was 36(I think) and yes we were ready to buy, emotionally. Financially, I dont know if we ever would have been ready to buy. We had been through some tough times with DW losing her Dad who was a very young 52 when he passed with ALS. We were bound and determined to not be the folks who woke up, kids gone and say we wish we would have done this or that. Life is short and we arent promised tommorrow. We dont regret one day of our DVC purchase, only that we didnt buy in sooner.

I had just turned 35 when I purchased my first contract in 2003- I have added on six times since to accommodate the family and friends who want to tag along. I'm single, with no kids, and never took vacation. Now they tease me about all the trips to Orlando!

Looks like I'm the youngest. I was 22 and my soon to be DH was 25.

I bought in 1999 I was 27 and single. My parents thought I was nuts! Plus I got married the following year so my fiancee (DH now) wasn't thrilled about it. Now, he's happy with the purchase - especially since his name is now on the deed And he gets to go on vacation to sunny Florida about 2-3x's a year.

Bought in '04 when I was 34 and DH was 35. We wish we had bought sooner with all the Disney trips we had taken!

We bought in 2003 when we were both 31.

We had looked at DVC 4 years earlier and decided we couldn't afford it then. We started talking about having a family in early 2003 and decided we better go ahead and buy in before kids and we could afford it. We figured we'd never buy in once we started having kids.

Well we closed in March 2003 and I found out I was pregnant in May 2003. Our first DVC trip to our BCV home I was 7 months pregnant with DS. We've had two more DVC trips since he was born and have another one coming up in December!

I was 25 and DH was 27. I wish we would have found the DIS boards before buying in. We bought during the friends and family special but we had no friends or family who were members. We hope to buy several more contracts in the future.

46, DW 44. Before we bought DVC we went down every year, at Spring Break, and visited my parents who wintered in Fort Myers. Every few years we would go to WDW. My dad passed away in Dec. '98, while in Ft Myers, and after our '99 visit my mom decided she wasn't going back to FL any more. So we were kind of lost on what to do at Spring Break. We made one more trip to WDW buying a package visit through AAA. It was on that visit we discover DVC and it has been love ever since.

I'm one of the youngins as well. I am 24 and soon to be DH is 23, we just bought last month. While we do not have a house and are not necessarily in the best place financially we could not pass up such a good opportunity (good CM discount). We are excited that by the time we have kids most of it will already be payed off!

We bought in 1992, I was 23 and my DW (then girlfriend) was 20. Got engaged later that year, married in 94 with a DVC honeymoon in EuroDisney (I think it was still EuroDisney then).

It is almost embarrasing when people ask my 10-year old daughter if she has ever been to WDW. We are currently planning her 22nd trip for next June.

we bought in 2004 when i was 48 and my DW was 43. we feel that this was just a perfect purchase for us. we also have 2 DS teenagers who are also disney fans. it just made sense for our family

Bought in August I was 32 and DW 30 i am now 33 and DW 31 somehow think I will be long gone by the time SSR contract ends given the stinking cold I have at the moment (sympathy please, feeling a bit sorry fo myself)
