What age is too old for a stroller?

My opinion: I have a just turned 5yr old, so we are bringing an umbrella stroller. My 7 yr old is very tiny for her age, I think we're even going to buy another one to take for her. And if my 9 yr old gets exhuasted and wants to have a seat if the other 2 are not in theirs, than she is more than welcome. As long as dh is pushing that stroller:lmao: I personally would not look at a big kid in a stroller at Disney and think " oh my, he's a little big for that" Even the adults wish they could climb into a stroller at Disney. So really if you want to push your "big kid' in a stroller, push away! I won't judge.;)
I think kids' personalities are different too. My dd9 would take a ride in the stroller. My stepson is 12(obviously we wouldn't be pushing him in a stroller now) But when he was around 6 or 7 and we'd be out and there would be an empty stroller, no way was he getting in it. So if your kid is willing and they're exhuasted, it's better than having miserable little people with throbbing feet.

I have 3 kids 11, 7 and 4 and am planning on bringing a double stroller for the two younger kids. I guarantee that my 11 year old is going to want to sit in it at one point because when we go to disney we barely take a break !!:)

I've heard too that you can personalize a stroller by tying a scarf or piece of fabric to the handle. It makes it easier to spot when trying to reclaim it after a ride. I also read where another women, who was worried about her stroller being taken, and came up with her own Anti Theft Device: She took one of her child's fresh diapers, poured water into it to make it look wet, put it in a clear plastic bag (so it appeared to be a dirty diaper in the bag) and somehow attached that to the stroller.
I laughed at that one. Anyways, the point is, if you tie something to the handle of the stroller, it's less likely someone will snag the stroller while you are away from it.

My DD5 used one last year. It was a major help! She still took naps at that point, so whenever she got tired she just went to sleep. My DS8 was wishing he had a stroller at times when we did alot of walking.:goodvibes

We bought a sit and stand stroller particularly for our 5 year old on our Disney trip and we were so thankful that we did! She would have never been able to keep the pace up without having a complete meltdown.

I really don't think there is a certain age, it just depends upon the child and their personality and their endurance levels.

FYI our 11 year old nephew was with us this trip and many days he was even wishing there was a 3rd seat for him!!!!

:rotfl:

We went last summer with DS8 and DD6. Day 1 and 2 passed by with our kids walking and hoofing it all around the parks, keeping pace with mom and doing a great job. Day 3 arrived and there was no question about it, we were investing in a double stroller rental for the day. We were touring Animal Kingdom, and were doing a lot of walking to minimize wait times. The kids were in the stroller most of the morning but by noon were ready to walk around. It was hit and miss the rest of the day but they were in it enough to justify us pushing it around. :thumbsup2

Could we have taken a break that day and not used the stroller? Sure! But that would have meant we didn't tour that park, and so it worked for us to use the stroller.

We are returning in August again, and if the situation presents itself, I will rent a stroller again and my kids can ride in it if necessary. Heck, I would have climbed in if I thought DH would have been able to push the three of around!! :lmao:
