What age for 40 inches and 44 inches?

DD1-40"@ 5 years2months (was not able to get on some 40" rides-no sorin' then) @ 5 years 11 months got on all 40" rides. Was 44" by the time she was 7yrs. She's 10 for this trip and 50.5"
DD2-was 40" at 4yr11months, 44"@ 6.5 years and is 45.5" for this trip @ 7 years
DD3is 36" (as of last month) and she's 3yrs 4months

We come from short people though, my mother is 4'11" and my mother in law is just 5'.

I can't remember the ages my children hit 40 and 44 but I can answer it for the 48.

Last year I took my 6 1/2 year old twins - one boy and one girl. My son was exactly at 48 inches during out trip with his shoes on (Keen sandals). My daughter was slightly under the 48. Now 7 months later my son has shot up and about 50 inches but my daughter is still where she was last year slightly under the 48.

My oldest made the 40" mark around 2.5 and the 44" around 4
My youngest turned 3 in November and still only 38"
They are both boys too- hard for my little guy though-he wants to do everything his brother does.

My ds4 is tall for his age. He is 44" now at 4 years old. He was 40" last year at 3 1/2. I will say on our last trip he could ride BTMRR but he only rode it once and was done. A little too much for him! So that being said eventhough he can actually ride Space Mountain this year we won't be pushing it at all!! He just isn't ready emotionally. If he wants to try SM great but not until the end of day. I don't want it to ruin him riding other rides!!

My DD rode splash, thunder, soarin etc on her 1st visit which was 6 weeks before her 3rd birthday. She was over the height but only just. My boys were also very tall and when they were 5 they were well big enough for all the 44" rides. Soon I am going to be the very short one in my house at 5ft7. DS 12 is already 5ft11!!

my 3.5 is right at 40 inches but they say she is above the norm, my twin girls are 6 and they are at 45 inchs and they say they are under the norm!
so it just depends!!!

My DS hit 40 inches right at his 3rd birthday and he was able to ride Star Tours, Test Track and Soarin' a week after his 3rd birthday and he loved all 3. He is in the 90th percentile for height.

My Court Jester had *just* turned 4 when we went and he was measured on every 40" ride ... and he made the cut every time, *just*.:goodvibes

Thank goodness, because he is pretty much a daredevil. He rode Soarin', Test Track, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Kali River Rapids & Goofy's Barnstormer. He was fine with most of the 3D stuff - loved Bug's Life & Muppets. We passed on Honey I Shrunk the Audience, he and I watched the fountains and played in the nearby exit pavilion with the music. Eeyore, Pirate Boy & Princess saw that one. We dragged him with the family on Haunted Mansion & Pirates of the Caribbean -- probably should have switched, because he didn't like them.

Clearly, he's a physical thrills kid. Every kid is different. I wouldn't want to have shown him too many YouTubes about rides, but every family is different. You might want to try that. Everyone taking a kid under 8 or so, or any sensitive child, should know that there is potential for "not fun" with plenty of attractions without height requirements.

My older kids were definitely taller earlier. He's a 50th percentile kid for height. My 7.5 year old probably would have made the 48" for Rock N Roller Coaster, but I didn't take her, since no one else was able or willing to ride that one. We did do Space Mountain, and she wasn't even asked to measure, if I recall correctly. My oldest is gigantic, at not much more than 10, he easily made the 52" cut off for the Tomorrowland Speedway. I think he's 54", he grew 2 3/4" last year and the pediatrician said to expect the same this year. :scared1: Court Jester won't be 52" when he's 12, most likely. Little dude's got style though.:cool2:

DS5 will be 6 in just a couple weeks and I think he's about 42-43". He was about 4.5 when he just barely was tall enough for the 40" rides.

Now DS2 (just over 2.5) on the other hand, is around 37-38", and we're wondering if he might be tall enough for our August trip for the 40" rides. However, he'll only be 2 months past 3, so I'm thinking the only "new" height restricted rides we might try with him would be Kali-River Rapids (38") and Star Tours (40"), and maybe ToT (40"), as he just absolutely loves that falling feeling.

My dd was 4 in October and just barely hits 38". I can't decide if it is best to let her know there will be rides she can't go on because of her height (or lack of) before we leave or wait until we get there so we can redirect her attention! The problem will be that her siblings are 4'9" and 4'5" so can ride anything and one of us parents will have to keep her occupied until the ride is over!

We wanted to throw a party when she finally registered on the charts for her height-for a bit she was below the 5th percentile! Now she is around the 30th. Her sister, on the other hand, measures in the 95th % for her height and weight. Quite a difference in my girls!

My DS was just turned 5 when he hit 40 inches. I took him to the doctor last month at about 5 3/4 and he was 43.5 inches barefoot. So I expect by our next trip, he'll hit 44 inches and be able to do Space Mountain. At our last trip (at shortly after age 5) he loved Dinosaur and begged to do it again but as we didn't have any more fast passes I wasn't going to wait in the line. I think each kid is different on what they enjoy. He also loved Big Thunder (we rode it 9 times) and Splash Mountain. For him, the faster, scarier, the better.

My DD4 turned 4 in October and she's just NOW 40" without shoes on. She's a petite little thing.

My dd is on the small side. She is 5 years, 9 months, and in Sept she was 42" and 38 lbs --this is with shoes, socks, and her school uniform, pants, undershirt, long sleeve shirt and cotton sweater-so it's prob more like 33lbs.
Last year in June we went to a theme park that had two ticket prices under 42" and over 42". She was 40 inches then, so she grew 2 inches in about 4 months. hth

My older son is 5.5 and just about 50 inches. Whatever the minimum height is for ToT he was about 2 inches over that when went when he was 4.5.

My younger son will be 3 in March and he is just a hair under 40 inches. Hoping he is tall enough for some of the fun rides in 3 weeks :)

My DD is 4.5 and is just under 45". She went on Dinosaurs and said she didn't like it and she never wanted to go on it again- it was way too intense. She is by no means wimpy about rides either. She loved Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror.

I have tiny kids. My oldest was still on ly 43" the last time we went, and she was 5 1/2! She will be 7 1/2 when we go back and I'm not holding my breathe for her to be 48". She also only weighs 42lbs. She was only 37-38" when we took her the first time, the week before she turned 3.

my youngest will be 4 next week and is just over 40", she is average, my older daughter is 5 1/2, will be six in june and is almost 47 inches

We're tiny, so DD is 5.5 and 39 lbs and 42 inches barefooted. She'll ride anything you let her ride. She's VERY easy going though, so I don't think it will be a problem if she can't ride something. This being her first trip, she also won't know what she's missing anyway.

Kids are all different. I do love the 4 x 4 rule for 4yr olds. Thats great & easy to remember.

We just measured last week of course so I know which rides to plan for our May trip. We will be measuring probably once a month till the trip.

DD4 (will be 5 first week in June) was 42.5 last Sunday. He was under 40 in July 2009 so we are hoping he gets that other 1.5 inches before our May trip.

DD7 (will be 8 then) was 51. When we went in August 2008 she was exactly 48. Also was 48 this summer (July 2009) at Busch Gardens. So she didn't budge height wise for a year, then grew 3 inches in 4 1/2 months!
