What age do you think it's ok for kids to go on their own??

Melinda.......... my boys are almost 16 and 17 and I let them go off by themselves.......... they are of course older......... but they are my "babies"............. they'd kill if they knew I said that!!! Actually, they were allowed to go by themselves since my younger one was 14. Then they had to meet us every hour and a half......... or call if they were on a ride or something.
How we do it now, They have to STAY TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!! no matter what ........ and they each have thier own cell phone...... and they have to meet us at certain times.......... at lunch........ dinner, or if plans change, we go somewhere else, or they go somewhere else, we'll meet, discuss, then off they go.
They have to call when they get off the rides...... or to let us know where they are, or what they are going to do.... etc... they just need to keep in touch.... A LOT!!! Trust me, they'll call every 5 minutes if they know it's the only way they can go without you!!! LOL.
I think during the day your kids(not the youngest one) but the others should be fine at the park.......... If you can afford it, get them a cell phone........ the radios don't work, and the kids who have them......... PLAY on them, you'll never get your kids!!!
I'd do what you are planning, try it out............ just make sure they contact you often. Have fun!!!

I let my DS15 and DD9 split at MK. At USO I let them go to the parks from the resort unattended. They know the parks really well. I can see the excitement for the independence and trust when I ask them if they want to stay at the park while I go take a nap. But I let my daughter ride her bike to school too.
