What Age Do Kids become too old for Dumbo?

My Mom's favorite ride. First time we invited her to go to Disney with the family first thing she said was how excited she was to go with the kids because now she would have a child to ride Dumbo with! That was 8 years ago. For this fall's trip she is already planning how many times she can go on based on how many grandchildren will be there with her! I don't think she will ever outgrow Dumbo.

Normally we skip it because of the line. This year we will ride it since I know it is being moved with the new Fantasyland expansion.

97? :lmao:

last time we took the boys (now adults)they were 12 and 15. the 12 year old convinced his brother to go with him.. "come on! it's cool!"
we don't do it often because of the line, but now and then, just for fun!

When you reach the age that you don't believe an elephant can fly.... I'll let you know when I reach that age.

My son was "too old" for Dumbo from about 10 to 12, until his little sister came along and gave him an excuse to put his tween fixation on coolness aside. It was "lame" to like Dumbo for himself, but riding it because it is his toddler sister's favorite is acceptable. :rotfl:

I think the middle school years tend to bring that phase where kids are trying to prove they're not little kids any more, but haven't yet gotten to that teen stage where they appreciate the offbeat/kitschy/retro/nostalgic, and kids at that age might consider themselves too old for Dumbo. Fortunately, it is just a phase for most and they do seem to outgrow it. :)

My niece. who's 15, loves Dumbo but insists on having her own elephant. Her mother and I share one. It has become a ritual to be at rope drop, make a beeline for Dumbo and be on the first ride of the day.

Hopefully never!

I'll be 27 on Sunday and I still love it - so it's an age greater than 27. :D

Even DH is looking forward to riding it next week...mostly because of the fact that we're going with our friends and their 2 year old daughter. He loves this girl and wants to ride with her.

Well, my DH is 45 and he LOVES Dumbo (he's kind of a big kid!) .... I guess it depends on the kid. :confused3 I don't think you're ever too old to ride Dumbo!!

Like so many others have said, never. I'm 59 and my trip would not be complete if I didn't ride Dumbo. It will always be a classic that we must do.

Well.... I havent reached it yet... so lol, I suppose I will let you know...

I dont think that ever happens, lol, no one is too old for dumbo :goodvibes

Like many posters have said...NEVER!

I think losing interest (or never having any) is based on the type of rides a person likes. My DBF hates rides like Dumbo because he has a fear of heights (as do I, but these types of rides don't affect me) and gets very nervous it'll crash! I, however, will be flying my elephant until as long as humanly possible! :yay:
