DD7 is a big HP fan and just 48 inches. She says she wants to go but I wonder if it will be too intense. Can't decide if I should let her. Maybe I will try first and then DH can take her if I don't think it is bad.....

How old was your DD/DS when they first went on and did they like it?

Mine were 8 and almost 11. Both were pretty scared but they are pretty much ride weenies. The older one said he would have gone back on again but my 8 year old wanted nothing to do with it.

DD went on it when she was 5 (yes, she's tall!) and absolutely loved it. She was with her cousins at the time and waited over 2 hours to ride again. I didn't go with them that day but can't wait to ride it with her this trip (and hopefully have a much shorter wait than 2 hours...) She is a thrill ride lover though and rode EE, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, ToT, Mission:Space Orange, etc. on the same trip too. And if I remember correctly, The Mummy scared her more than FJ but she rode it again too.

EDIT - Was wrong about the age, she'd turned 6 by the time we took the trip.

My DS was 8 and could not get enough of it. But he rides everything with no issues.:thumbsup2

The only thing that made him cry was when he was to short for the rides as he grew over the years.

We had this issue numerous times as well! The worst I can remember was EE had just opened when we took DD at almost 3 and she threw the biggest fit because she couldn't ride it with us. We had to go back to MK to ride the Barnstormer a million times so she could get her coaster fix. Next trip it was Rock-n-Roller Coaster that brought on the tears. She's 53 1/2 inches now with shoes on so I'm hoping she'll get another 1/2 inch to ride all the big rides at US/IOA before the next trip. If nothing else, it's getting her to eat her fruits and veggies so she'll grow quickly. :lmao:

We went last Oct, DS(10) and DD (8) both went on with DH, they really enjoyed it, they both love coasters but DD did mention some scary parts. She is a big Potter fan so was happy to 'suck it up' and be brave. Me, on the other hand, didn't ride! (I get motion sickness)

Yea, I felt so bad for him. Most kids are crying because parents are making them go, our kids are crying could they just missed the height.:lmao:

I don't have the problem now, he's 9 and is 56 inches. Now we can't keep him off Hulk and DC or DD.

My DD just turned 7 last month. We're leaving tomorrow and she says she wants to ride it. She LOVES thrill rides and will ride anything she's tall enough for and has never been scared. The only part I'm concerned with is the spiders, she is afraid of spiders so I don't know if she'll end up riding it or not.

If they want to ride it and can, I say go for it. I don't think it is that scary. My son was too small, but his 5 year old cousin (who is kind of a wimp on rides) handled it ok.

Our son was 8 (and a nervous rider -- couldn't get him on Jurassic Park, for example). He LOVED it -- went multiple times. He likes to know what's coming, so we check out ride videos on Youtube so he doesn't psych himself out while waiting in line.

All children are different. My 8 year old step-sister is petrified of Jurrassic Park and even Dudley-do-Right. But loves Jaws and Space Mountain?! She was 1/2 an inch off the height requirement, and we know she would have disliked it. (Mainly due to the dark, spiders and the elements of the ride that surprise you)

My DD was 12 and my DS had just turned 9. DD will pretty much go on anything, but DS was a bit nervous. DS doesn't do rollercoasters (at least not yet) and his main fear was that FJ would turn out to be a rollercoaster. It's not.

My DS says he closed his eyes for the first few seconds of the ride. DS also requested that my DH throw his right leg over the bottom of his legs (below the knee). I guess this was for an extra sense of security.

Two trips to Universal later and umpteen rides on FJ, it is now one of DS's favorite rides. :goodvibes

Enjoy your trip and let us know how your DD liked FJ.
