What age did your child stop riding in a stroller?

DD was around 2--when she learned how to unbuckle herself and hop out when I least expected it. It was just easier to KNOW I had to hold her hand than to have her all of a sudden be out of the stroller!

3 1/2-4. From 3-4 the stroller was only used when we went to a place where there were big crowds and alot walking, not for day to day things like grocery shopping or going to the mall.

About 3 1/2 - but we still hang on to it for Disney World. :teeth: He's 4 1/2 now, and it stays in the garage except for amusement park vacations.

I really miss it when I go to the mall though - no where to carry all the bags!!

Not me! Paul's going to ride in a stroller until he gets married. I need a place to put all our junk!!

LOL. I had already forgotten how nice it was to have a place for shopping bags.

DS has ALMOST given it up now. He walks whenever we go out around our neighborhood, and in most stores he walks. The only place that I still occasionally use it is the mall, where he STILL usually walks :rotfl: but as others have said we still have the diaper bag and coats and whatnot, so I push the stuff.

I am trying to get him completely broken now, so that it isnt such a shock come July when the new baby gets pushed and he has to walk. We have a secondhand double stroller, but it is a beast of a thing, and I would rather not use it unless I have to.

As far as WDW though, idk. I know he will need one for those distances for a couple more years. Especially EPCOT.

My children are 5 and 2 1/2 years. We still use our SBS double stroller for times when we're at Disneyland, other amusement parks or places where we'll be out for most of the day. She prefers to walk, but we like having a place for our oldest to sit after walking for a long time or if we're in a huge crowd of people. She doesn't mind sitting in it when she's tuckered out, that's for sure.

We use our Peg Perego Pliko single stroller when we go out for short trips, like errands or out to the mall. The nice thing about this stroller is that it has a rear foot board for an older child to stand on and my 5 year old uses it from time to time, especially when I need to get from point A to point B quickly, LOL! Maybe a stroller with this feature might be a nice compromise for your oldest if she still wants to ride.

My oldest DS was two and my youngest DS stopped at 2 and a half but my middle DS loved the stroller until he was over 4!!
