I took piano lessons in 8th and 10th grade, paid for them myself.

My parents made me get a job cause I wasn't "involved" in school. That was o.k. - I had a blast and met DH!!

My dad was in the service we never stayed anywhere very long. Also there were 5 of us kids, along with a uncle who my parents adopted since both his parents died when he was only 5. So he was more like an older brother. So many kids, so little money. We basically got along on imagination. No clubs, dance or music lessons or sports no way to get around. Mom worked part time and there was no transporation to get us anywhere either.

Hmmm, but why do I not feel neglected, or disadvangted. Because we were loved and had each other. Once I was in high school I did join a couple of clubs but that was it.

Brownies...lasted two weeks!!! I HATED it.
Twirling for 6 years
competed in barrell races for two years
Junior MYF
Junior church choir group
figure skating
roller skating
bowling
four years of pom pom in the band front

edited to add that I took piano lessons for about a year and didn't like it very much. I still have nightmares about playing Swans on the Lake

I was in girl scouting from elementary through middle school.

I took ballet for a few weeks, but was so clumsy the teacher suggested to my mom that another hobby might be more suitable :o

I took flute for a year, and guitar for a year.

I was on the swim team in middle school, played j.v. and varsity basketball in high school.

Did one year of track, mostly because I had a crush on one of the guys who was on the track team LOL!

I took piano lessons form 4th through 11th grade.

Ballet and Tap Dance 3rd grade-7thgrade
Soccer 7th grade
Volleyball 7th and 8th grade
Track-Tennis 9th and 10th grade
Tennis 10th-12th

Forgot to add fishing 5year old to present.

My daddy always wanted me to play the piano but I cried each time he mentioned it.

Ahh being the youngest who had fake crying down to a science was a sure fire way of getting away with everything and getting out of doing chores. Unfortunately it didn't work with my mom:sunny:
