What about this for wedding favors?

Personalized match boxes (white of black) with the name of the bride and groom and wedding date printed on them in whatever color we choose. We can have either "A Perfect Match" printed on them also or perhaps a design of a little car speeding away with "just married" on its back window. Those are two ideas I have had for personalizing them.
Also I have thought about having Jordan almonds in white and a few in silver (more expensive) in little favor bags tied with ribbon.
We are also thinking about instead of having bird seed, using sparklers since it is now an evening wedding and it will be dark. Has anyone seen this done before?
We only have until March 31st to get it all together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds very nice!!! Congratulations!!!

Hi, I like the sparklers idea....we had a real small wedding so we gave 8x10 crystal picture frames for everyone & as a way to mark their seats....I would do something personal or that ties in w/ your event...do you have a theme or anything for your wedding....where are you having it?

The ideas are both cute, another idea I think is nice are mini votive Yankee candles or the like you can cute a small (fortune cookie size) paper & attach w/candle w/a saying you like or your names & date.....

i once received a small fridge magnet (bride and groom's photo) that i honestly kept longer than any wedding favor ever. i (and i think most people) toss out the jordan almonds so i tend to think of them as a waste of money-we used gold foiled chocolate coins at our wedding, they went over realy well). another favor that just got tossed was a single silk rose with an imprinted ribbon with bride/grooms name and wedding date.

i would check on the local laws re. sparklers, even the "safe and sane" are illegal in most of the counties in our state (and private property is not exempted). the other problem i see is that they sometimes throw off a spark which can burn clothing-something i would'nt chance in wearing a nice outfit.

I like the idea of the matches since there is a message on it and your guests will be able to use them later.
I am not a fan of jordan almonds and would probably eat one then toss the rest away.
I have seen the sparkler idea being done on t.v. weddings, and they are a nice and memorable touch.

just check to make sure you can use the sparklers where you are getting married. I know for both me and my sisters wedding, they wouldnt let us due to the fire code..

Well, I have decided against the Jordan almonds and we are going with sky blue and white personalized M&M's! On one side they have the names of the bride and groom and on the other side an "m" - because they are actual m&M's. Some of them will also have "3-31-06" on them for the wedding date. It will be a mix.

I do think we'll do the sparklers. This is South Carolina - the fireworks capitol of the South it seems. So I can't imagine they wouldn't be allowed.

I am having almost as much fun planning this wedding with my son and his fiancee as I do planning a Disney trip!

I think the sparklers are a great idea and the m&ms will be too cute! I just had to say that we had "a perfect match" printed on matches for our wedding! 17 years later I still have a couple of boxes and I still love them. Congratulations!

I would check to make sure the sparklers are metal not wood. The ones we got here this past July were made out of wood and would drop pieces of burning wood on the ground. The kids couldn't wave them in the air because these pieces would go flying.

I like the M&M's idea! Jordan Almonds are far too expensive. I have about 10 wedding favors around my house right now which still have the jordan almonds attached! I just haven't taken them off the either ceramic bride/groom, wallet sized photo frame, votive holder (with mirrored backing), etc....

We did crystal candlestick holders which we purchased at The Dollar Store! We tied tuile wrapped jordan almonds around the candlestick holders with white satin ribbon & had a little tag made up with a bride/groom on one side & the other said "Thank you" & our names & date of wedding." We also had ordered napkins & plastic drink stirers that matched our wedding invitation. It was fun ordering all that stuff back then but can't even imagine how expensive it would be NOW!

Again, love the M&M idea! I too would probably have fun helping someone plan their wedding! Such a happy fun occassion! party:

We did chocolates. We melted white chocolate, colored it and and poured it into molds for roses, leaves and sea shells. My mom and I worked so hard on it, but it didn't have the intended effect. Most people left theirs on the table, thinking it was fancy guest soap. :rotfl:

Don't forget to order imprinted napkins for the cake. My grandmother saved hers, and sent it back to us on our 5th anniversary. She's almost 100 years old now!
