What about the Disney PhotoPass?

I think it all depends
1.) are you willing to seek out or flag down every photopass person you see to take your pictures so that the whole family is in them? ( I am )
2.) are you a huge shutterbug (I am)
3.) are you willing to pay for it?? $ 125.00 for all of your pictures with any of the added little icons that you can put on via the website.

I would say if you only get 10-15 photos on it - it may not be worth it. however you have to look at all of the costs and how much you want the pictures that they take.

one 5/7 ( that is the smalles I believe that you can get or it is a 4x6 but the price is the same are 12.95 each from the website. so if you have 10 pics and you want 1 of each one the cd is a better bet.

I believe that you can also ask the photo pass photographer to take a picture with your camera as well so you may esentially get the same picture, however you wouldn't be able to add any of there little extra's to them.

the photopass people will also take pictures that you can't take ( ie. the tink picture in the MK ) they will have you all hold your hands palm up and when you view the picture later they will impose tink in the palm of your hands. they also do simba and the ak and stitch in MGM I hear that there may be more so it all depends on you and what you want. I know its expensive but in my opionion I will have them take as many pictures as possible and use it as much as I can so I am hoping that it will be worth it.

if you end up not wanting the CD you can use the pics and order a scrapbook which is less money I hear that they are nice too. good luck with whatever you decide. If there is anything else that I can answer for you just pm me or post it ( I can probably repsond quicker to a pm though.

You might want to check out a photopass cd share. We have several groups sharing in Sept (see link in signature). Basically a few families get together and share a photopass account (everyone logs their own photos into it and does their own edits), and then one person orders the cd which is copied and shared amongst all the families.

The photos are yours to do whatever you want with them when you order the cd -- including e-mail, printing, etc.

Is is worth buying? Will we save money on pics?
Thanks!:thumbsup2

My fiance and I got the cd last yr and it was very worth while for us. We had all of our engagment pics on it from crt as well as all the pictures from the parks. It wasn't ever a huge ordeal to find a photopass person we usually stumbled upon them serval times throughout the day. I think the cd is excellent if you take a lot of pictures, which we did and we plan on doing again in dec. I think its all up to you and the amount of pictures you have taken on the photopass. I know that they charge for individual pics, but I'm not sure how all the pricing works out. Might be cheaper in the longrun to get the cd then you can do reprints and what not. Good luck and have fun!

Yes!! WELL WORTH IT, although the trip had myself, DH, DD4 and DS 2. We were there 7 days and they took 309 pics, by the time I added all the signatures, borders and ordered the CD I had 510 pics. We ordered what we wanted off of shutterfly (I joined the member club, got 30% off of prints and a free photobook....or the photobook is 29.99) We look at our pictures everyday! Going back with my sister and the kids in Dec. and plan on buying it again!

Please excuse the ignorance. But do you buy the photo pass in advance or after you get home??

What we did was take our own pictures and the photopass pictures and then when we saw the pictures, made our decisions.. We did order a few pictures.. Their pictures came out tons better than ours and everyone in our family could get pictures taken together. So take your own and let them take some and then make a decision.. if nothing else, let them take just a few of everyone in the same picture lol..

Where do you go to find out info on the photopass sharing thing?

you can order the cd before you leave the parks, but I wouldn't reccomend it. You can view it on line for up to 30 days once you get home and add the borders, autographs ect.

you can email the site which would have all of your photos to anyone you want, but not individual pictures. They get to see them all and again that is only for the 30 days that you have it up there. You can try requesting an extension if 30 days isn't long enough for you but THEY ARE NOT guaranteed. I only know this becuase my daughter went to NY on a school trip and had several pictures taken via photopass as the NY world of disney store ( they took like 5 pictures.) I was able to add signatures ect to them, but didn't want to spend 12.95 on each pictures nor waste 125.00 to get 10 pictures ( 5 original + 5 that edited ones with autographs ect.) since there were so few pictures they granted me an extension so that I can add our WDW photos to it from our upcoming trip and buy the cd that will have them all, but I had to go through a lot of requests to do it. At first they would only give me 10 extra days which wasn't enough.

anyway I have also heard wondeful things about the scrapbook that you can do and that is from photopass photos or your own or a combination of both. I believe that someone stated that it was around 80.00 for 15 or 20 pages - each pages holds any where from 1-5 photos ( the more photos the smaller they make them though) and there is room for journaling as well you can get more pages for an additional cost per page.

you can view your photos in the parks before you leave so that you can try to be sure if there were any special photos that you had taken that they came out to your satisfaction or you could try getting them taken again. doing that in the parks I am told does NOT count towards your 30 days.
