I need one last ADR and we will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn on August 5 -7. Is Spoodles a good option for a DDP reservation for me, DM, DS9 and DD13???

We had a great meal at Spoodles last year. I love the garlic shrimp appetizer. We also have an ADR for our upcoming trip! :thumbsup2

We love Spoodles and try to eat there once each trip. My kids are 8 & 6 and they like it too!

had spoodles last year as one of 11 table services... Spoodles was the best of the bunch according to my wife and I... recommended highly... ages in my party were 34, 32, 8, 6

You will find that the Spoodles is a very laid back environment, with a vast amount of food offered that is very flavorful...

Excellent, one of our favorites!:thumbsup2

How is this prepared? Is it served warm or cocktail style?

Thanks,

Maggie

JMHO, yet the entree menu at Spoodles leaves very few choices.

Ate there for dinner a few years back, remember it as good but not great

Ate there for breakfast this past Feb, it was horrible!

We went this summer for the first time and loved it. We were on the DDP and it was our favorite dinner.

Very good choice...have eaten here many times and it is always good. It is also a very good value on DDP as it is a little pricey and you can get some very well prepared meals here.

worst food on our trip. Burnt kabobs, pasta that was liquid like soup. Just really bad.

I don't know if they just don't like solos or what, but I've eaten there twice as a solo and had horrible service both times. My waiters just took my order, then disappeared until I sent someone after them to ask for my ticket. I just could not get drink refills and both times had to flag down another waiter to order my dessert. Definitely the worst service I've ever had at any WDW restaurant. I tried it the first time because it gets such good reviews here on the DIS. I was not impressed with the food and the service made me furious. I decided maybe I just caught them on a bad night and to give them a second chance. Service the second time was just as bad and still wasn't impressed with the food. I was in there almost two hours and ran out of soda about 10 minutes after I sat down--never did get it refilled.

The shrimp appetizer is prepared warm. It is absolutely to die for! My DH is not a shrimp fan but after tasting mine, said he would definitely consider ordering a full serving. We enjoyed our meal at Spoodles very much. We weren't on the dining plan last trip but we are going to be in November. We went to Spoodles in August because it was very convenient - we were staying at the Boardwalk. We enjoyed it so much that we re-arranged ADR's for November and cancelled my DD's much anticipated Biergarten buffet. She agreed that Spoodles definitely sounded better than a german buffet. the kebabs we had for an entree were also great - the harissa is a little peppery for our tastes so next time I would just ask them to leave it off entirely. DD and DH think they would ask for it on the side or just a light serving.

The rest of the family was luke warm on it, namely because of the limited entree choices (which is not always a bad thing, it means that what they do make they do very well), but the seafood stew that the wife and I both had was absolutely wonderful. Checking the menu recently though, it seems to be gone? If that is the case, we may give it a pass as to keep the 'other family' appeased.

We just ate at Spoodles last Friday. I loved the Mediterranean dips but the rest was not great. Most of what we ate had little flavor, including the desserts. The service was good. I do think you should try it yourself and form your own opinion but we will not be returning.

We find the restaurant hit or miss.

We were there twice in August, once before free dining started and once after. The service and food were excellent in early August. We were anxious to go back at the end of the month with a friend and the service was simply terrible! Also, imo, the restaurant is just so loud. It didn't help that we were seated the second time beside a large "gang" of diners who allowed the four children in their party, all around 3 yo, to constantly jump up and down on their seats and yell at each other. It was a nightmare! I believe our service stunk because the table of 14 beside us truly took up all of our servers time.

I will say this is the one restaurant you couldn't pay me enough to go back to. So much so that the last time I was invited to join others there, I went but wouldn't eat. Very heavy handed on the olive oil (or some other grease) and the times I have eaten there I never felt well after. Not sick mind you, but how you do after you spend a day at the fair over eating bad for you foods. Only place I have ever been at WDW that I seriously refuse to eat at again.

What was so bad about it? Mediterranean food is famously heavy on olive oil, it's one of the biggest crops, besides wine found in most of those countries. Were you looking for "normal" meat & potatoes fare?
