What about South Beach Diet?

A couple of people at work are using this plan. It seems to be working great for them. I'd like to hear some dis opinions though. Pros and cons appreciated!

We have a SBD thread going on here at wish. There are many of us the plan and we love it. It is a good plan to be on, allowing you good carbs after your initial 2 weeks. Stop by on the thread and give it a read. There is some great information there and many of us would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. The pro's you'll lose weight and it's really not that hard. The con's you have to give up almost all carbs the first 2 weeks, after that you can add in the healthy ones.

Just to add to what Sheree has said, I'm on South Beach too and have had what I consider excellent results!

I have lost 65.5 pounds in a little over 6 months and gone from a size 26 pants to a lose size 16 in that time. I have lost 50 inches and gone from a size 9 shoe size to a 7-1/2. I have tons of energy which I need to do my FIRM work outs 6-7 days per week and the nightmares I used to have every night have totally disappeared from day 1. My husband has lost about 70 pounds even though he does almost no exercise.

The food on this program is awesome and I never EVER feel deprived. I can definitely see myself eating this way for life. Those are the pros. The only con for my family is the expense. Eating fresh fruits, fresh veggies and lean cuts of meat is expensive!!!! But I figure the money we were spending on McD's several times a week for lunch and all the drive thru visits because I was too tired to make dinner more than make up for the higher grocery bill.
