What happens in the park when there is hard, all day rain? We will be leaving on next Friday. Extended forcast is calling for two days of rain. I realize that extended forcasts arn't always reliable, BUT... What if there is two days in a row of rain?? does tje park offer any alternative activities? Just wondering?

In our five times there, I can only recall one day during 2002 that it really did rain nearly the whole day. Often there will be sunshine, you will go into a ride, and come out to find the ground wet and the sun shining again! :flower: It does rain, but usually it is over with fairly quickly. That being said, MGM has quite a bit of indoor stuff on days that it rains, and so does EPCOT's future world. If there were heavy rains in the forcast, I would likely avoid MK or AK. I know I have heard others say they head to Disneyquest for rain days. When in the parks and unexpected rain comes, its always a good time to find a ride with a line that is covered (which is pretty easy to do most times) or duck into a gift shop or grab a bite to eat.

We never worry too much about it. Took a rain cover for ds's stroller, and a few little 99 cent ponchos from walmart with us. If you are concerned about rain, I would recommend buying some. They are so cheap, and it is much nicer to have them with you than trying to find someone selling them during a rainstorm. They do sell disney ones, but not for 99 cents.

We are leaving next week too and I've been watching the extended weather reports.. :sunny: I think they are just calling for showers which to me means...take your ponchos and go have fun!!  Less folks in the parks perhaps.

I think it sounds worse then it will probably be...I'm still believing for sunny and warm.. :cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

Wanna believe with me???!! ;)

We just take ponchos or rain gear and have fun. We go from building to building to get to the rides. We have also found that the parks will clear out a little if it is raining all the time. I would say have fun and take some spare cloths to change into.

Hi, and thanks for your replies. We bought ponchos at Wall Mart yesterday. I'm not a rainy day gal.. :( . Have pretty bad rheumatoid arthritus. DH said that he looked at the extended forcast this morning and it wasn't calling for rain anymore :cool1: !!
Yes, I believe :wizard:!! I believe :wizard:!! I believe :wizard: !!!

It rained alot when we were there in June, all day rain. It was so much fun lol. The kids loved it, and we pretty much walked on to everything.

Take an extra pair of tennis shoes. You might want to use a water repellant treatment on your backpack, or camera bag. Take your rain gear and keep going. People usually leave the parks and the lines are shorter. Rain is no fun, but don't let it change your plans.

Just another FYI -- if the rain is heavy enough and there's a threat of lightning, certain rides that operate outside may be closed temporarily. That really doesn't effect too many attractions though, as most rides are indoors.

Yes, 2 pairs of sneakers - lesss chance of rain in the AM - so do the pool at the resort - then go to a park.

AK - bad in the rain - do not do

EPCOT, MGM STUDIOS and MK - all have indoor rides. Wear your poncho's and go. It's warm - just a bit wet.

Still raininng at night ? Kids want out of the room, not to say a cranky DH ....
go to DTD - take in a new movie if one is out, go to Rain Forest Cafe and have some fun with dinner. go to the World of Disney - biggest Disney Store in the USA (not sure about NYC's store though) - don't want you items to get wet - either have the Disney Store ship them to your home address (less to pack) or have them sent to your resort (as long as you are still at the resort 2 days later)

If you can swing the $$'s - see if there are any tickets for the HDD - it's all inside - kid friendly food and a very funny slap stick show. Some discounts at the 9:30 PM show (maybe Disney Visa, Annual Pass, not sure of others)

Just remember you are at WDW to have fun - so smile :teeth:
